The only way to beat roulette is by increasing accuracy of predictions (changing the odds). This is possible on many real wheels.

Hello,

I just wanted to see if anybody knew anything about a player called Magnox who was active on roulette forums from around 2004 to 2006. (VIP, Gamblers Glen forums)

He mentions that he has a method that passed 500K spins and was based on the law of the third.

Hope somebody might have some insights into his playing style.

Magnox:

Well... I've managed to develop a system that wins consistently through over half a million spins based on selection by law of the third.... data posted on VIP. The fact that it wins sod-all (7 cents per spin, reckons Mr. TG) is neither here nor there - the bet selection produces the results, but it is not a practicable system. Yet.

If bet selection had nothing to do with it, there is no way I could consistently win - the house edge would grind my bankroll down, and yet it doesn't.

Look at betting on even odds... what's the chance of 20 blacks showing in a row... well 1/2^20. Possible, but improbable. If you wait until 12 or 13 of the same even bet have appeared and then Martingale the opposite it is unlikely you will lose. The snag, of course, is the difference between a possibility of any series of events occuring and the 'actual' probability of the bet placed.

It is very unlikely that you will get a run of 22 or 23 even bet results. However, as you are placing your bet, you still face the actual probability of 1/2.

The law of the third is going to generate a consistent, profitable system. I haven't found it but it is out there.....

Thanks Amk, this is probably the closest to a holy grail I have ever seen if it really did pass 500k spins. It's quite amazing

i think it is possible, but not the way most imagine. Like "take this dozen if it repeats such and such many times, but others don't" or something like this. It must be something much more sophisticated to really win. To be in harmony with the reality. For example betting each time different set of numbers based on a law of the third. Then skip some spins and betting another one. This i can believe.

anyways if it is something "botable", i mean something which can be mechanically programmed, i don't believe in that. I mean it can overcome 500k spins, but it won't be practical approach to winning.

and if u give it  a try of billion spins, like Wizard of Odds offered a challenge, it will lose for sure.
and if u use it that way on different wheels for long periods of time it's gonna a loser too.

Because holy grail does not exist. But smart ways of playing SOMETIMES do.
(again -- everything i said is not applicable to AP)

This method would never work on the RNG i programmed, reasons why is RNGs are just a number sequence in different sets of thousands of spins,

It could work for 500,000 spins but than it would loose for the next 500,000 spins,

The RNG i have programmed has a sequence of over 4,000,000,000 numbers.

But... Roulette is beatable yes!!

Even a real wheel

Magnox was a programmer he did most of the stuff in Rx in the early days. He also did a tutorial on how to program Rx.
If I remember correctly it was tested twice. Once with a years spins from one of the German casinos. And then with numbers from random.org. One of them won.

Hello Frank.

May I ask how it is possible to win on a real wheel?
