Title: Bizarre personal request for our London friends
Post by: Colbster on Jan 08, 07:47 PM 2017
January last, my wife and I travelled to London and spent a good time riding around on the Tube.  She became fixated by the woman announcing arrival at Waterloo station.  She just randomly blurts out, "Wah ter loo!"  I have tried desperately, but in vain, to get a quality recording of the announcement as an mp3 to use as her text notification on my phone.  If one of you happens to ride a tube that pulls through Waterloo and can record it on your phone and share it with me, I would be eternally grateful.  We're returning to Manchester in May and heading to Yorkshire to visit my familial roots and travelling north through Scotland for 2 weeks.  If I can't get a recording, I might honestly take her on the train from Manchester to London for a day just to ride the tube to get a recording, maybe spend the rest of the day at the British Museum.  It's not a horrible way to spend a day, but I hate to miss out over an easy recording.

Thanks in advance to whoever can help me out!

Hello Colbster,

Play this from 1min 16 sec and you have what you are looking for. Not sure how you can record it, but I am sure there must be a way.  It's kind of funny listening to the accent like you say....'Wah ter loo'.

Cheers, Wiggy!

That one doesn't have the specific one I'm looking for. She says only Waterloo and she's very excited, like she just woke up and she lives at that stop herself and she's thrilled to be home.  I'm going to keep looking on YouTube though.  I have searched all the MP3 sites I can find but I could easily do a rip of a video that has it if I can find it.  Great idea!

It's specifically the enthusiasm with which she says it.  My wife is crazy.  It just makes her giddy when she hears it.

Thanks to you, also, Priyanka.  Still not the one but I'm continuing undeterred.  In the one I'm looking for, literally all she says is the single word Waterloo.

Turner, I'll be landing in Manchester in 122 days and flying back out of there 2 weeks later.  I will take your word for it!
