Odds and payouts are different things. If either the odds or payouts don't change, then the result is the same - eventual loss.

It's been a while but just thought I'd log onto this site to say I ended up losing everything and going bankrupt thanks to gambling. Tried every system going, every money management method going, even the old classic saying 'i don't want to be greedy and be rich just earn a modest X amount a day' still didn't work.
Went from being someone who had a lot of savings, and credit facilities to having nothing, literally can't afford to eat or heat my house for my family some days.

Probably best not to do this people like me of the future

I wont gamble what I cant afford to lose. Id never gamble home or bill money. I save a little money each week to play with.

Sorry to hear what happened to you but some people have self control.
the key to winning with systems : play for a statistically irrelevant number of spins

Sorry to hear such a story, but I appreciate your honesty.  Quite the contrast from those who win every time they play.

You are but another ship of hope foundering on the rocky shores of random.

Le_Chiffre,  I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear this.  You bring out a good point which is that every gambler thinks they can handle themselves, but we never know what will push us over the edge and cause us to lose control until it's too late.  I only hope you don't let this break your spirit.  I feel that you're a good man, with a good mind and if you could reach a comfortable financial state once, you can do it again.  Please, never set foot in a casino nor log on to an on-line casino again.  One step at a time and I believe you'll be back to a good place, but not by gambling.

God bless you my friend,

George
In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

that's the most important thing. Another important thing if you sadly lost let's say a thousand dollars in a day or two, some devil pushed you into this, don't try to return it as quickly  you lost. You will lose another thousand and God forbid to take now 2 thousand to try to return all the amount you lost. That's i guess what happened to our friend. The road to nowhere. Growing losses, growing risk.

Dont test your strategies in casino (i guess that's another his mistake). Get RX software for 30 bucks, it may save thousands for you. If you still wanna test with real money, test with 10 c minimum bets on live wheels online. If this money is gone then it's gone. Then you do something wrong. But a few bucks a day won't kill you after all.

Ideally your bankroll should grow slowly from minimum bets to bigger ones -- not overnight. If you lose some you lose minimum and good bye to your small loss, start again with minimum. Don't turn your losses into growing snow pile. Unfortunately he did not come here for advice after starting losing money before real big losses. I think we would do our best to stop him. I remember that he told once about losing a few hundred or a thousand, it did not sound so terrible.

Sorry man that we did not know what happening to you and could not stop you on this terrible road.

People, that's a lesson for those who can't keep their losses under control.  Better not to go to casino at all then.

Compulsive gambling is as old as man.
May I suggest a NEW SECTION here
on the subject?
It might help some!

Le chifre....your contributions to the forum have been noble....unfortunatlty from a family point of view there is now a stigma attached to your situation. Its hard to convince people who dont gamble that you are doing well and play within your means even when you are truley doing well and playing within your means....
You (le chifre) cant openly admit you even came on this forum without getting grief.
I think this particular venture is best left alone.

Sorry to hear Le_Chiffre.  I had a financial meltdown trying to make a bad business work
and it nearly ruined me.  God kept me and he can keep you too.  I'll be praying.

Perfectly said Proof, literally couldn't of said it better. Don't lose faith in the bigger plan that God has for you.

@ Le Chiffre - Very sorry to hear that. I think the best for help everyone is God. At some point in my life,
I hit rock bottom, I had faith and he helped to overcome the storms.

Very good that you share this with others, thank you.

Cheers
Denial of gamblers fallacy is usually seen in people who has Roulette as last option for a way to wealth, debt covering and a independent lifestyle.  Next step is pretty ugly-
AP - It's not that it can't be done, but rather people don't really have a clue as to the level of fanaticism and outright obsession that it takes to be successful, let alone get to the level where you can take money out of the casinos on a regular basis. Out of 1,000 people that earnestly try, maybe only one will make it.

Le_Chiffre

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I've spoken and exchanged ideas/methods with pretty much all of you over the last couple of years.
Sorry it ended up like this but I did enjoy spending a good Saturday afternoon testing all our clever methods out and getting that exciting feeling inside that we've found the method that could beat the damn game this time (even if it only lasted for a 100 spins lol)

Best of luck my friends!!
