Even chance backed up by double dozen

This is my contribution to a flat bet.  Well, as close as I can come to one.

The following is our trot to decide where to bet when it's time to bet an even chance location.

Play Follow-The-Last (FTL) on your favorite even chance.  I like R/B because they are easy to see.
After RBR or BRB we switch to playing Opposite-The-Last (OTL) until we have a loss then switch back to FTL.  If we have BRRBB or RBBRR we play for the Penultimate until we have a loss then switch back to FTL.

We start with 1 unit bet on our even chance bet.  If it wins, we keep repeating.  If it loses, we place 1-1 on the 2 dozens other than the one that just hit.  (If you want you can play 1-1 on the last 2 dozens to hit.)  (Or you can play your favorite double dozen selection method.)  We play the double dozen bet 1 time win or lose.

It the double dozen bet wins, we have recovered our 1 unit that was lost on the e.c. bet.  We return to our e.c. bet.

If the double dozen bet loses we will be out 3 units.

We return to bet 1 unit on the appropriate even chance based on the above even chance trot.

We only bet 1 unit on the e.c. and 1-1 on the double dozen.  That's a flat bet. ?

That's it!

Buy-in for 30 units and that's your stop-loss.
Your win target is +15 units.

The above is the safest way to play this system.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you who hate to lose without a method to recover, read on.

Recovery Method:

If you lose a 30 unit buy-in, your next buy-in is for 60 units and your win target is 30 units.

You will be betting 2 units on the e.c. and 2-2 on the double dozen.

Once you recover your 30 units, your next buy-in is 30 units again and you're back to 1 and 1-1.

If you lose a 60 unit buy-in, your next buy-in is for 120 units and your win target is 60 units betting 4 and 4-4.

If you lose this 120 unit buy-in, you take the loss and your next buy-in is 30 units and you're back to the 1 and 1-1 bets.

That means you need a minimum of 210 units to play the recovery method.

To be properly funded for insurance against disaster, you should have three of these 210 unit banks.  That's a total of 630 units.

If you lose a 30 unit buy-in and a 60 unit buy-in and you reach your win target of 60 units from your 120 unit buy-in, meaning that you recovered the 60 unit loss; *you then buy-in for 60 units.  If you win 30 units meaning that you recovered your 30 unit loss, you're made whole again.

*NOTE:  I do not recommend the last buy-in of 60 units to recover the 30 unit loss if you have gone all the way to a 120 unit buy-in and recovered the 60 unit loss.  I suggest that you take the 30 unit loss.  You can recover it with only two 15 unit wins.

Said another way.  If you lose 30 units and then lose 60 units and then recover the 60 units, you can either play to recover the 30 units with a 60 unit buy-in or you can take the 30 unit loss.

The reason for not recovering the 30 unit loss is that you have tried to recover it once and failed.  You recovered the 60 units you lost tying to recover the 30 units, so let sleeping dogs lie.

It is unrealistic to think that you will always recover all losses.  If that were true, this would be the "you know what" and I'm not claiming that.

One other point.  You can either keep your unit size the same and bet more units for each level or you can just increase the size of your unit appropriately and always bet 1 and 1-1.  If you don't understand what I just wrote, just ignore it.  It's not important.

For those of you who want a solid system that will give you a fighting chance at this game, give this a thorough testing or at least keep checking this topic out as I and/or others (I hope)  post results .

If it turns out to be a lemon, we'll just figure out a way to make lemonade.

Luck to all of you,

Test#1

+15

Lost my 30 unit buy-in but recovered on the 1st recovery try (60 unit buy-in).

Largest draw down was 48 units.

162 bets.

This was  a tough session.
I have played other sessions that won without a 30 unit loss and went much easier but that was while I was putting the method together so I didn't keep accurate stats.

So far it's been pretty much of a grind.

That's one of the reasons I've stayed away from flat bets.

Test #2

won 0

Never lost my original 30 unit buy-in, but was in languishing from -20 to +6 and finally after 200 bets, quit at even.

I hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come.

Oh well, at least it wasn't a loss.

Remember what Victor and Lanky use to preach.  "Learn not to lose and the wins will take care of themselves."

Maybe that's what this system will teach us, how not to lose.

Just completed another test where I decided to stop at +5 after about 100 spins.

I'm thinking that +15 or -30 might be a difficult goal to reach on a regular basis.

Maybe as low as +5 or -10 is a more reasonable session length.

I always play with the recovery option, so with +5/-10 the buy-ins would be 10 units for the base set, 20 units for the 1st recovery, 40 units for the 2nd recovery and since it's such a small buy-in, we could add a 3rd recovery of 80 units.

An update on this system:

Change #1:  Play the even chance bet until you lose 2 times in a row then switch to double dozens.

Change #2:  Play the double dozen bet until you lose 1 time or win 3 times then back to even chance bet.

Change #3:  Use this progression:

# units                  Bet range
to bet             l

1                            -1 to -8
2                            -8 to -20
3                            -21 to -40
5                            -41 to -65
8                            -66 to -100

Play to +20 or -100

When moving to double dozen bet, it's always the same unit size on each dozen as you were betting on the even chance.  After losing or winning 3 times in a row, decide if you need to change the bet size.  In other words we only change our bet size when we move from 1 type of bet to the other.

I want to make a rule change and suggest a different win target and stop loss.

Rule change:  When you are playing the double dozens, if you win 2 times and then lose the 3 double dozen bet, you are even for your double dozen attempt, so you can play them again.  If you lose either the 1st or 2nd attempt, return to the even chance bet.

Win target and stop loss:

Once you reach +10 units, you stop if you lose a set.  A set is 2 even chance bets and 1 double dozen bet.  This will drop you down to +6 units

As long as you keep reaching a new high point after +10 without losing a 4 unit set, you keep playing.

This will allow you to continue to win on a hot streak and also let you walk away with at least +6 units once you reach +10.
In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

D'Alembert style, sort of.

Line:  1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 etc...

Start at 1 unit.  Play according to the rules.  I.e. bet 1 unit until you lose 2 bets in a row and then bet 1-1 on either the last 2 dozens to hit or the 2 dozens that didn't hit last.  Or pick your own double dozen bet selection method.

You can play the penultimate bet selection method for the e.c.  This helps keep the bet selection method simple and effective.  To mix things up a little, every time you return from betting on the double dozens, you can switch to betting opposite the penultimate.  Switch between penultimate/opposite penultimate after having to bet dbl dozens because that will mean that you lost 2 times in a row on the e.c's.

Stay at 1 unit until you lose betting 1-1 on the 1st attempt.

Example:

L -1 on e.c.
L -1 on e.c.
L -1-1 on Dbl Doz  Here we go to the 2 level

L  -1 on e.c.
L  -1 on e.c.
W  +1 on Dbl Doz
L  -1-1 on Dbl Doz Here we don't go to 2 level because we lost on the 2nd dbl doz bet.  Return to betting 1 unit on e.c.

L  -1 on e.c.
L  -1 on e.c.
W +1 on dbl doz
W +1 on dbl doz  For conservative play, you can return to betting 1 on e.c. because you just recovered the last two e.c. losses or you can play for a 3rd win.  But remember, if you lose on the 3rd attempt it wipes out the 2 units you won on the 1st 2 attempts on dbl doz bet so you have to replay the dbl doz like this:

L  -1  e.c.
L  -1  e.c.
W +1 dbl doz
W +1 dbl doz
L  -1-1 dbl doz
L  -1-1 dbl doz  At this point you have to go to the 2 level because you just lost the 1st bet on dbl doz.  Even though it's the 2nd loss in a row on dbl doz the 1st loss on dbl doz just erased the 2 prior wins.  It's like the W, W, L never happened.

Option:

You could play the dbl doz bet for as many times as it continues to win.  Sometimes you can get a really long streak of wins.

Without holding your hand, I'll just say that you have to evaluate where you are when you lose the dbl doz bet to know if you move to the next level, go back to betting at same level on e.c. or play more dbl doz bets at the current level.  All of these are possible decisions.

Never drop back down the line unless you are betting large bets and only have a few chips to recover.  Then you can drop back down just in case you enter a new losing pattern.

The negative is that you may have recovered completely on the next bet, but now because you lowered you unit size you have to win more bets to recover.

Without calling this "The Grail" which it ain't, it does get an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau.

Just had a 200 unit draw down.  Took about 325 spins to pull back out.  Too boring for me.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Cheers,

GLC

P.S.  I don't really like non-even chance bets.  Limits us to roulette only.  Even Chance is my cup of tea.
