Today was not a good day.

Today was a very sad day.

God took back one of his children.

Myself, My Partner Beverley, her son Dean, and his other best friend Mark, attended the funeral

of Dean's other best friend- Andrew Peter Jamieson, aged just 18

Andrew took his own life just 2 weeks ago yesterday- by jumping off a multi-store

after what seamed to be much turmoil in his short, sweet life.

Andrew was here on the Saturday before, having tea (evening meal) with Dean.

Andrew gave not hint of what was about to happen in the days ahead at that time.

The sense of shock was so great to Dean, Bev, and myself, that when the Police came round on the Monday night to inform and interview Dean for clues as to what had happened, We all initially thought Andrew had hurt himself in a fall.

Such was the sense of confusion at the seriousness of the event, that after a very short passage of time, leaving the Constables to chat to Dean and Bev, I had to return to the living room and ask-

"So, can I get this right............

The boy who was here on Saturday enjoying an evening with us..... is now dead?"

...........the shortest of unwanted answers returned..................."Yes"

No one should ever have to bury any of their children.

Such a sad day, to see Andrews Mum- Sue, and her husband (Andrews step-dad, Gaz, who coincidently works for one of my timber suppliers, and I know him) taking their youngest to the crematorium.

So sad sad a day.

I apologise to anyone who is upset or disturbed to read this event, but its part of the life of... Chrisbis.

I'm so sorry to read about such a dreadful event.

I was greatly touched by the way in which you wrote about it.

A salutary lesson to us all that we just don't always know what others are thinking or feeling...

A sad day, indeed.

My thoughts (and prayers) are with you all as you try to deal with the sense of loss, abandonment and desolation.

VLS

NO words can describe such a feeling of void as missing a child.

Supreme condolences to Andrew's family.

It goes without saying that condolences extend to Beverly, Dean, Mark and of course, to you.

I don't know what to say...

When I was sick.
And mentioned it.
I got a great deal of support and love from all members in the forum.

I feel for you...

He probably had his reasons.
While we may never know what they were.

Now that he is gone.
Life feels a little empty.

Let me know if I can help in anyway.

We should all remember that--for the most part--suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.  For the old, sick and in pain, Dr. Jack has his place but for a youngster, it is sad.

My condolences.
