began testing a baccarat 3 wide matrix....with a max 1 2 4 progression...if the 1 2 4 busts i take the loss and reset
in one shoe I had a total of TWO busts and still made 5 units
I will continue to test, if it works out I will post the strategy
until then anyone know where I can find shoes?
Wizard of Odds has a large 6 and 8 deck file that you can use easily.
chances are what im doing will fail
i need to test several shoes before i get excited
Had a fairly hard time finding anyone actually playing Baccarat on youtube. Aka there is tonnes of slots players, but when it comes to actual "table games" there isnt really anyone uploading videos or going live. Lots of the usual "get rich"/scam short videos.
However i found David C channel:
link:s://:.youtube.com/channel/UCwZnxtu5QtMyYjnCc93I9eQ
He actually plays a lot of table games including Baccarat. I watch him sometimes to get my baccaret/poker/bj fix. He actually arnt a completely lost case as he does (accidentally?) play "regression" it seems. That is if i can handle his attitude & handheld camera. Worst case you can always grab some actual Baccarat shoes from the videos.
Oh and if someone else knows a good baccarat or similar table games Youtuber feel free to share :)
Ok I tested the same shoe I already have in firstnpost as well as a second shoe. With a tweak
First shoe +7 second shoe +5
This is a stupid, rookie system.

Rich,
One part of this method seems to be to bet that the latest row will NOT match the row three rows back.
But there are other aspects of this method that are less clear.
When you feel comfortable sharing it with us, please do so.
This could be an interesting addition to the group of matrix methods that have been posted in this forum over the years.
very simple
i was writing the baccarat results from left to right in rows of 3 (9 decisions total)
then I would play vertically that the above would not repeat...(in layman's terms betting against 9 decisions back if you will)
i did not like the results on the 2nd shoe i tested so i reversed it to betting for repeats vertically
1, 2, 4 progression. if lose take the 7 unit loss and reset to 1 unit, on a win stop playing that vertical
the last 2 sheets i posted signify that
1st shoe i had ONE 3 step bust which yielded +7 at end of shoe and second shoe had TWO 3 step busts which yielded +5 at end of shoe
sounds complicated but very simple
-write the results horizontally left to right, 9 decisions
-then play vertically for a decision to repeat
-each "vertical" is its own game, if you lose a bet and you move to next bet, do not continue progression, only when you get back to that specific column do you continue progression after a loss
-layman's terms, bet for same as 9 decisions back only using a progression after a loss in that specific column, each column is its own game and they have nothing to do with one another and have their own progressions
if you analyze the sheet you may get it..... ill test further in google sheets
after a win, i no longer bet that column until that 3 decision block is done
depending on how its going i can bet 9 times out of 9 or only 3 out of 9 so electronic baccarat is best...dont think dealer will let me sit out 6 hands
no doubt i will be quoted by Mr J later, will be fun when i retaliate and trigger him

Rich,
Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Definitely worth testing out with real baccarat shoes.
And don't worry about what they say over on that other forum.
Keep doing your stuff.
ive tested with several REAL baccarat shoes and I have tested with the computer generated wizard of odds shoes (Following are 1000 randomly generated baccarat shoes. The shoe contained eight decks)
TOTALLY different results...man I hate RNG
if anyone wants to post some shoes that they may have in their stash ill test them
Live shoe from celtic casino feed/bet phoenix feed (same)
My results was +2 units....now I just do not know how to handle ties yet.....both progression losses had tie involved in some way....now I know tie is a push....but for testing purposes, shoe was a WIN
silly strategy? maybe....at this point just for fun
(link:s://i.imgur.com/fmXWF7R.png)
OK I got it
if there its a TIE decision I will NOT play the NEXT vertical game following it
doing so the above shoe was a total of ONE 3 step progression loss (-7 units) and (+13)
shoe would have been +6
I am having good results on live, not RNG
Quote from: RouletteGhost on Apr 03, 09:52 PM 2018good results on live, not RNG
Yeah.. random live is better then random rng...

Shoe 1: +7
Shoe 2: +5
Shoe 3: +6
Matrix way betting vertically for a repeat ignoring the next series when a tie is involved
I will wait for a losing shoe to see if this is worth it
So far so good
In real world I won’t play the entire shoe. This is only for eating purposes. My goal is using a large unit size and stopping after +1
I made an error in above shoe test
The three step progression loss (in red) has a tie. A tie is a push. So I was actually plus more units
This evening I have tested my 4th shoe.....sitting out the game under a game that has a TIE decision
Although I had a 3 step progression bust, the ties were a PUSH....MAN THIS SHOE HAD A LOT OF TIES
Running tally:
Shoe 1: +7
Shoe 2: +5
Shoe 3: +6
Shoe 4: +8

RG I'm a little confused.
The qualifier is the vertical three has a repeat
Example:
B P P
P P P
B P P (last decision)
------------------------
B would be the bet (is that right?)
yes, i know....very confusing...hard to explain on forums...i know people will test it wrong, thats how it goes
but you are right
B would be the bet because 9 decisions back was B
write results left to right
play vertically that the above repeats.....1 2 4 prog, stop on a win....
this is shoe #5, +6 units....falling in line with the others
running tally:
Shoe 1: +7
Shoe 2: +5
Shoe 3: +6
Shoe 4: +8

Rich,
Interesting stuff you are posting here. Have to sit down and study this method this weekend.
I like matrix methods. I usually play them with flat bets (no surprise there, of course !).
They are great for grinding purposes -- if you know what I mean.
They are particularly great for baccarat, naturally.
Please keep posting your results and tweaks with this method.

Rich,
Play around with other possible progressions and see what happens:
1 2 3;
1 2 0;
0 1 2;
1 2 2.
Also, give flat betting a try.

will do
right now my hurdle is TIES
as you will see in the next shoe I post
Shoe number 8
I need to find a better way to handle ties...right now when a tie shows up, i do not play the vertical game below it
so more ties=less bets
However this shoe still yielded +1 which is fine for me when I use $100 units...also note I will never play a full shoe I will take my one unit $100 target and go...this is a business not pleasure...pleasure is using the money after winning 8)

may adjust it....
when i bet on a game and get a tie on the first bet i bet 2 units on the next in that column, and if lose then 4....so if i lose the 1, 2, 4 progression im down 6 units because the tie was a push
now if i adjust this and if i bet one on tie and it pushes, i restart progression, then if i lose the remaining to of 1, 2 thats only a 3 unit loss
had i done that on shoe #8 it would have been +4 units (+10 units -6 units)
i know its hard to understand with words but if a column looks like this
T
B
B
normally the progression would be.
T 1
B 2 -6 units
B 4
revised would be (since T is a push)
T 1
B 1 -3 units
B 2
OR
B 1
T 2
B 2
remember i only do 1, 2, 4 when i lose, i stop that game on any win i do NOT continuously play the 3 decision game
if its
B 1 W I STOP AND DONT BET THE NEXT TWO
T
B
anyone want to post shoes they have i will test
geez
i really was not thinking
this is why I test.....all shoes would have more units won if I played the proper way with ties
why would i do this:
B 1
T 2
B 4
that is SO STUPID...my goal is one unit per game....the 2 is a push why would i increase to 4?!
it would be
B 1
T 2
B 2
(progression on loss only, if I won on the first B i would sit out the next two in that column until the next group of 3)
playing that way, my running tally is + more
damnit
too lazy to go back and correct, so I will pretend those were real world money shoes, that cannot be changed after the fact, and correct it going forward in tests and see how it goes
i will do another shoe soon

Rich,
Just curious -- where are you getting these shoes from?
The Dark Wizard's simulations?
All real live shows from Bet Phoenix . Ag
Never rng or computer generated. Real world shoes only
I have one bad test. Really bad. Guess what it was?
I’m going to see where this sits after 20 shoes
My local casino has the electronic baccarat with the real cards in a glass bubble. No dealer. No pressure
I’m due for a loss soon
Hard to believe 10/11 shoes were winners
I was expecting more losing shoes
Hello,
i tried it and my aim was +3 first shoe brilliant second shoe:

What if we wait for a virtual loss and start playing until a loss or the shoe ends. Seems to work OK on the shoes you posted. Only one shoe would have no play since it did not have any losses.

Rich,
One of the things that fascinates me about this method is that there seems to be a bias seemingly in favor of an outcome MATCHING (that is, being the same) the outcome that was produced 9 rounds or decisions ago.
Normally, you would expect that, played over a large number of shoes, there should NOT be an imbalance between betting that the next outcome would either match or be the opposite of the outcome 9 decisions ago -- but so far your results seem to show that there is.

Andre,
Instead of me complicating things further with my own explanation, it would be better to read RG's original rules in the following post:
link:s://:.rouletteforum.cc/index.php?topic=20148.msg195449#msg195449
- 3 wide “matrixâ€
- played vertically (essentially same as decision 9 back)
- playing for a repeat
- 1 2 4 progression, never more.
- each column is its own game and own progression
- a game is 3 decisions
- after a win STOP in that column we don’t play every hand. stop on a win in the 1 2 4 prog or take the 1 2 4 - 7 unit loss
- if during the 1 2 4 prog a time shows up, stay at same unit don’t progress as it is a push .
-use said method and send me gifts via mail
I like your "matrix" idea for baccarat with the 3 separate 3-step prog.
Thanks for sharing - and I will try it.

all in all, i like this method...almost 30 shoes and in the plus...however it may not be enough for me
i will brainstorm a tweak...im going on an average of +1 per shoe...
i will play maybe ten more and see where it ends up

When testing here are some helpful guidelines.
1. Carefully define your testing rules and attempt to limit the degrees of freedom being test as much as you possibly can. This can help reduce the sample sizes required and increase the statistical relevance of fitness tests and standard deviation testing.
2. Do not set win goals or hit and run scenarios. They open the door to unintentional curve fitting.
3. Try to test statistically relevant samples. Think in terms of 100k or 1 million decisions.
4. Use chi square and standard deviation testing to measure test result predictions.
5. Run out of sample tests to see if the results can be replicated.
Good luck with your testing, and I hope you find the information above to be useful.

ONE thing I will give general credit for is curve fitting. I see myself having the urge to keep going or to stop when ahead/down trying to alter rules. I am trying not to...I am playing most of those shoe out in testing
in real life I would be ahead more units...
in some shoes i was +10, in real life I would definitely quit there and not finished
33 real world shoes later, in the plus....

Following this thread with interest. When you get a tie you don't bet but when you get a tie in the betting do you hold on to 1,2,4 or bet different. Have done small tests, but will look at it more.

How much in plus would that be? Have you calculated? I tried to catch yesterday some samplers, live shoes. What a long time. But can maybe do it shorter. Would like to test different progression and flatbetting, both vertically and horizontaly. It can take time, but you want the best outcome of it.
Here's a live shoe, Dublinbet.

Amazingly this would get + 49 if you bet vertically including the Ties. Horizontally +39 including the ties. But with a progression like RG did vertically would give -3. I'm little lost how you count it horizontally with progression. Guess I'm little tired. Can you count it RG?

I counted now this horizontally and betting every row + 22. So looks like betting horizontally with progression gives better result.
Did another test. Didn't look so good. Loses with progression both vertically and horizontally. I haven't calculated the flatbetting, but will do so. Can put up the shoes tomorrow.
Here's some advice to help:
Remove the progression all together. Testing with the progression will only increase the number of trials required to determine statistical relevance. If it doesn't work flat betting, then it won't work with any progression.
Good luck.

I know you are just looking out for me. Such a nice guy
I don’t mind playing a progression. Not chasing losses. A cap at 3 steps. Never chase it. Cap it off and don’t progress after the stop loss
But again. Thank you for looking out

Boyd,
I just want to get one thing clarified.
Did you fill in the horizontal rows
exactly in the sequence that the B/P/T decisions came out?
So, for instance, were
the first nine decisions for this shoe: PPT TBP TPP?
Thanks.
Little busy tonight. But was also going to ask him in which direction he wrote the results as they came l, as that is confusing
I write left to right in rows of 3

Yes, there were too many Ts at the beginning -- that is why I want Boyd to clarify that point.

Yes, it is written from left to right just as RG proposal. There were many ties in that shoe.Maybe a rare event? Next short I did didn't show that many ties. I will post the result later today.
Here is the second shoe:

Flatbetting and progression this didn't result in plus. Both vertically and horizontally. Maybe if you can catch the ties the result would be good?
Playing the ties in 3 different ways: Tie followed by a tie, vertically direct and every third would be in test 1, +3, +12 and +34, total + 49. Second test +7,0, -7, total 0.

Sure. You bet only on ties. I will give an example. X =bets

BBB BBP BBB
BBX BBB XBB
Not always you see many ties happen, but this can be good flatbetting.

Since you are interested in targeting the ties, you can try the following method that I mentioned on another thread:

Thank you. Well, after thinking about it. I decided to stick with RG method. Ties can be very different, sometimes a lot of them but sometimes less. So I will play horizontaly and take the first win. Wonder how's it going for RG?
I just stumbled upon this topic. Has anyone tried ignoring the tie? I've charted about a dozen shoes and had good results (small sample, I know).
If you pick a corner bet with roulette you have 8 to 1 and same with the TIe for baccarat ...
You have a 50% chance to hit a Tie with six attempts, anything beyond that is chasing.
This is common knowledge and I would put a plus + sign when I get a tie within six attempts and start a new count with six attempt cycle.
If the Tie hit at the sixth attempts I would put a = equal sign and each time there is no ties within six attempts cycle you would put a minus sign - and count as one cycles with no hits.
This way you get a clear and nice view of how the tie behaves, you get to see the true variance and nature behind the random universe.
And you can use it as mention above or add some other concepts likes series of ties and single ties.
To increase the likelihood with match and probability calculation with some parts of Marigny De Grilleua.
Cheers

Ego,
I was thinking more along the lines of the original post with the matrix. If a tie showed up in the sequence to just ignore it. For instance:
B B P
P B P
B T B
Ignore the tie and make the Banker your 8th number in the grid.
I just stumbled on this post myself and I was looking for some clarification as well. Not sure if it is still being supported with comments or not though
This is what RG was saying are his instructions, and I get some of them but not all of them.
- 3 wide “matrixâ€
I get this. I record the results left to right for three decisions. Then I start on the line below doing the same thing.
- played vertically (essentially same as decision 9 back)
So after I have a 3 x 3 matrix because of 9 decisions now I go back to that SAME 3x3 matrix and I bet those results vertically downward? If my results were...
PBP
BBB
BPB
Now that I have the previous 9 results my next three bets will be P-B-P because the first vertical column has that sequence? Then I move over to the second column and bet B-B-P?
- playing for a repeat
I do not understand this comment. Do you mean that you write the results horizontally and you want to see a repeat vertically?
- 1 2 4 progression, never more.
I understand this part.
- each column is its own game and own progression
Do I ONLY bet three bets in the first column. Then move over to the second column in the first 9 results, and then to the thrid?
Or am I recording lets say 63 results (7 of the 3x3 matrix which is 7 x9 = 63) then I bet straight down that whole column
- a game is 3 decisions
Does this mean that if you win three hands in a row you get up and walk from the table or if the three decisions are the progression 1,2,4
you get up and leave that table?
- after a win STOP in that column we don’t play every hand. stop on a win in the 1 2 4 prog or take the 1 2 4 - 7 unit loss
- if during the 1 2 4 prog a tie shows up, stay at same unit don’t progress as it is a push.
I understand this part
