Title: RNG question
Post by: doubledime on Oct 18, 05:03 PM 2012
Does anyone know if when using an on-line casino with a RNG, if the the RNG software continues from the last time you played, or does it start all over again when you start a new session?  In other words, let's say you play for 20 minutes and quit and log off the casino, come back the next day and start playing.  At that point if you look at the "history" you will see the numbers that were played the last time you were logged in.  So, does the RNG calculate it's next number from the day before's number, or start fresh?

The reason I would like to know this, is that I am going to working a a software program that charts the numbers that come up and I have heard, though I cannot confirm, that a RNG is really not "random", but rather to some extent based on the previous numbers.  (I would like to here more on this subject also, if someone really knows.)

Back to the original question, does the RNG continue from the last time you played, or does it start over from when you start that session?

Thanks

I think the RNG starts new. Everytime you start a game the software creates a seed. This seed tells the algorithm how to create the numbers. There are thousands of seeds.

I would say it starts a fresh, also during a session each number is a fresh number and has nothing to do with the last.

"...does the RNG calculate it's next number from the day before's number"--Doubledime

Great question.  From my observation, RNG's behave like slot-machines and each casino has individual settings, depending on the profit requirement for the day.  As added protection, casino software (all casinos under a software brand i.e. All Playtech casinos, All Microgaming may recognize your betting patterns over time--and even track your patterns in fun-mode, somewhere it is being recorded on some server somewhere.)

They must of course record the bets, otherways the can not make the balance.
But the RNG engine is not at all set after the way the player act. A random number is a random number, it can not be calculated from the playing.

It should violate the rules total, the odds are constant.
It differ not at all from a real wheel, if you do not find a biased wheel, the RNG behave as a perfect
wheel.  So it does not matter if you record 24/7 or take some breaks. The numbers will be different, but you will never have different use of it.

If anybody think they read the game in order to manipulate, I wonder Why they play?
I shuld for sure not play if I suspect it.

The way I understand it is "random" is constantly producing even when not "in use"...

for example..say I am at a casino and hit the spin button..it produces say a "7"...well lets use that same senario but before I hit the spin button I got an itch on my ar*e and scratched it. Then hit the spin button....it would probably not produce that same "7"..

You see it a lot in slot machines...people leave a machine..some joker walks up and hits the jackpot. People think.."damn..I would have won the jackpot if I stayed there"  that is far from the truth. Random, inside that slot machine is constantly working...weather anyone is playing it or not.

Hi JL

Right now bankroll is a bit low due to general family/life issues.  I should have a 1 thousand bank roll around christmas time in which I am going to do my own 30 day challenge using **five** and 8 on 1.
Goal is hit and run for $100 for 30 days. I will certainly keep you updated. I have lost in **five** recently but that was due to my lack of disipline. By losing I got so confident and greedy that I blew my  whole bankroll in the first 2 progressions leaving my dry for the last 2.  By waiting until Christmas time it will give me enough time to get mentally prepared as well as financially.

Yes the mind is EVERYTHING with this game Kevin. A word of caution stick to dozens. Columns are too unstable. Its a shame you. can't get a BV account. That would make life easier.

JL.. I am sure i could get a BV account sooner or later. The (States) are trying to figure out how they can get a slice of the pie (tax you on it). They are disguising it right now saying they want to make sure the consumer (gambler) is safe betting and are betting on a legit/fair site.  I am in a state that has alot of casinos (NJ) and that is also part of the problem. The state doesn't want to cut into their home turf but in reality they are already losing out to neighboring states anyway. I have heard rumors of them wanting to tax you 20% on it. If that is the case why bother...time will sort this out..in the mean time I do like being "anonoymous" in the casino..they don't know me..no player card..no tracking..hit and run..hopefully
