The following is a post by a contributor to the baccarat forum named GR8Player.  I have used similar type progressions in some of my posts, but not exactily like this.

I'm interested in any comments regarding how effective a bet method like this is.

If I may say so stright upfront, even at the risk of apparent conceit, I consider my "Gr8Player's Progression" to be the absolute best and most efficient negative progression that I've ever seen. And, that's exactly what I had in mind when I designed it: efficiency. It's both mild enough to allow for your "variance" to correct itself, yet raises your unit sizes just enough for efficient recouping.

It's based upon a use of "7-series". Can't use my progression with 3, 5, or even 9; for the 7 works best. That's what the professional sports leagues use, the 7-game series. And it seems to work best here, as well. Seven seems "just right" to ascertain exactly "who's getting the best (or worst) of it", before one needs to make a bet-sizing "adjustments".

(Sidenote: I currently do not utilize this progression, but that's should not be viewed as anything against this MM method, as much as it is a reflection of just how far my Baccarat game/trending has come; I no longer feel the need for any "drawn out" negative progression for MY play.)

Onto the progression:

Starting at the 1-unit level (or, as I call it "1-villle"..."ville" because that's where you want to "live", in 1-ville, for we don't like to live in 3-, 4- or 5-ville) you remain there unless you lose by more than a -1. In other words, obviously any "plus" after the 7 bets and you remain; if you were to lose the series at 4 losses to 3 wins, so a -1, stay at the same level. If, however, you lose 5 and win only 2 (for a -3) or lose 6 and win only 1 (for a -5) or lose all 7 (for a -7), you move up to level 2.

Now, say you're at a -3 for the first level, and you move up to level 2, as soon as you are at a +2 in level two, you end that series and return to level one. For example:

-1 +1 -1 -1 +1 -1 -1 = -3 on to level 2:

+2 -2 +2 +2 = +4 now you're at a +1 for the group (-3 +4 = +1), go back to level 1 immediately.

You are ALWAYS seeking to return to "1-ville". I did not design this progression as an excuse to raise my bets; on the contrary, I designed it for it's EFFICIENCY in recouping and relative "mildness". So lower those bets as quickly as you can.

i have used it,, its good for stretching things out till you get wins again but thats about it---its actually pretty fun on blackjack,,,,,one person swears that he uses it as a progression on any two dozens at the same time and it grinds out winners?

It's like a mini-project 202 progression.  Project 202 uses 40 spins and does the same thing.  Up for the next 40 if you're behind or down for the next 40 if you're ahead.

I have tested this some and it seems to work although it is somewhat of a grind.

that's nice slow buildup progression could be used for wheel based sectoral bet consisting of 8 numbers? can it be adaptable to fit with the following bet selection:

FTL spin of the sector for the next six spins, if unhit then follow the sixth spin for the next six spins.

your comments are appreciated.
also please mention any bet selection you have in your mind regarding sectoral bet.

Catalyst,  I'm not sure how you're dividing the wheel into 8 sectors only.  That leaves a few numbers not being bet.  I don't know how effective this progression is with multiple number bets at the same time, although you can bet 1 chip on 8 or 9 numbers in you sector for 7 spins.  If you are up after 7 spins, stay at 1 unit per.  If you are down after 7 spins, raise to 2 units per.

My favorite progression for multiple number sectors is to bet 1 unit on each number until you have a win.  If you are ahead after the win, stay at 1 unit per number.  If you are down after the win, add 1 unit to each number and keep playing until you win again.  Each time you win, you are either ahead in which case you go back to 1 unit per number or you're behind in which case you add 1 unit to each number.  Keep playing this way until you finally get ahead.

To prevent spending forever in the hole after a bad losing period, you can begin to add more than 1 unit after a win and you're still deep in the hole.  Something like this: 1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-2-3-3-3-5-5-5-8-8-8 etc...  You will notice that this is the fibonacci progression in multiples of three.

This strategy has been used for many years in horse race betting in the UK - certainly I have seen it on numerous occasions in the past 25 years.  My own experience about using it in casino gambling is a thumbs up > if a system shows overall mild success at flat betting this is a great way to boost up the rewards and thus your bankroll.  One of the better staking ideas in my opinion.

Gr8Players's progression for Double Dozens and Double Columns.

For all you guys who are looking for a nice stable bet for double doz/col, use this progression.

You can make it 7 bets per level or you can decrease to 5 bets per level or 3 bet per.

You can stretch it out to more than 7 bets per level if you want.

I have been testing it on 5 bets per level with excellent results.

Use your favorite doubl dozen bet selection method like Divide and Conquer or one of the other matrix systems.  I think this is a much safer progression than the straight martingales curently being used.

Start betting 1-1 for 5 times.  If at the end of 5 bets you have a positive balance, stay at 1-1 for 5 more times.

If at the end of 5 bets, you have a negative balance, move to 2-2 for 5 bets.  If at any time while betting 2-2 you reach a new high balance, start over with 1-1 again.

If at the end of 5 bets, you have not fully recovered, move to the next level. 

You play 1-1; 2-2; 3-3; 4-4; 5-5; etc...

You can either keep moving up the progression in 5 bet steps until you recover all lost units and are at a new high bankroll, or you can step back down the progression if you are positive on a level, but you haven't recovered all previously lost units.  How far back you go depends on how many units are left to recover.  Use your own judgement on this.

i report instant positive results from this.

much much better than losing hundreds of dollars, I blew up my BR last night

i tried this system. maybe worth a go in real mode with higher unit values e.g. 3/3, 6/6,12/12 etc..

results +5 units

This is unbeatable method on En Prison table....I know it
as am addopting this bet every time when on En Prison table.
And btw-its old method known to most professional players...but
unfortunately most of them/USA/are unable to play this.

its not a handicap its a normal challenge ----i play in eastern europe quite a lot and american wheels are common? nostalgic commies meet  greed? but the casinos greed can become your friend

Looks good but it doesnot say anything about the higher levels.

What if i'm on level for and my five bets end on a +4

Do i go back to level 1? Or do i go back one level? Or do i stay here till i'm in profit again.

And personality if im recovered half my loss or more i would go down a few levels...cuz the run from hell just passed so its more likely you win some now...

Sorry GLC that progression is fiction as there is no bet selection that can win more hands then you lose.
Yes we have strike ratio that can make us hit 60% but the progression will not hold up.
Not even win and break even.

But if some one argue against me - then you have to show me a working bet selection that comes with that progression.

Hi glc,

I have been using this progression for the past 4 years and been winning since then at singapore casinos. Although, there is always a house edge on any games, but they do come in streaks which is why there is a variance on our strike rate. This progression help me to absorb the bad ride in the first few villas and i won at a higher betting value which covers back the losses and some profit. It can be a grind sometimes like spending over an hour/ 70-135 hands to win a series. I used a 400 units bankroll and it never broke it in these four years and i have won over 12x of my 400 units bankroll now. This system wouldnt suit people who used limited bankroll.

Very nice progression. I like these kind of slow progressions that don't swipe out all your bankroll too quickly.
I've played this progression many times the other day, and in my opinion the only negative situation is when many 7-villes come and go and you raise the bet and it doesn't appear the positive outcome. I had such a kind situation the other day at Betvoyager no-zero, where after 17 7-villes I hadn't come up to an end. After that, and thinking that it was hard to continue with this system for longer time, I took a paper, divided my loses into a steke of 6 numbers and continued with Laboucher and finished it at last!!!
