I'm curious, what was their reason for no spin? Other than the obvious.

When the rotor is going to fast, and the ball strikes it, the ball sometimes floats above the pocket for an extended period.  The dealer's are taught to call it a no spin because the dealer's have to take their eyes off the layout for too long of a period of time in order to watch the floating ball.  With their eyes off the layout, there's too great a chance that someone could bet late and capitalize on the floating ball effect.  This is why they screwed you out of a potential win.

It sounds like they don't like you there.  In most casinos, if you're a premium player and they know you,  the dealer's will let the ball float at the players request.  Perhaps it was a very busy table?

Jesus...whos starring in this movie called "USA casinos"....Brad Pittboss?

Its ridiculous.

Get over to UK Ken. They really dont give a crap. Around 6 casinos in each city on average. No Tax. No one bothers you.

24/7 open. The dealers dont look at much. Just chat. Pit bosses even Nod with a bottom lip push if you win.

For me, the pit bosses are mostly there to watch the dealers and verifying payouts

Here's the problem with the UK casinos.

1. You usually have to register in order to enter the casino.
2. You have to provide ID every time you cash out your chips at the cage.  If you're trying to keep your anonymity, then this is bad.  Furthermore when you get banned in the UK at one casino, you often find that you're banned at most of the casinos.
3.  It's one thing to win in the UK, it's another to actually get paid without the casino disputing your win... if you're lucky enough to have won big.  It is definitely not the ideal place for AP players.  The players in the US are use to open doors and being able to come and go without having to provide their names.
4. The US casinos generally take much larger bets.
5. The wheels in the US don't alternate spin direction.

In my oPiNioN...

Ken really did get a bad shake.  They're likely being a d$ck to him because of poorly trained dealers, management, or previous encounters.

Ken's attitude is justified given his past action within the casino, his unit size, and his patronage to this casino.  He should write a letter and send it certified.

Times are changing. You dont have to now in most of them. Earlier, you cannot place larger bets without registering, but probably they are coming to terms with a very dull market. They do ask whether you are registered in a very polite way, but you dont have to be. There are some which still stick to the old practice.

Times changing again, you dont have to. You can easily cash upwards of 7-8K without an ID.

What did you do?  :-X. This is very true though, they are all connected and interlinked. I dont know how they do it, but they are really good at this banning technique, and you cant register at a different one. But as I said, with the need not to register, obviously am assuming they are not using facial recognition, you can get away with this, but not always.

5. The wheels in the US don't alternate spin direction.
So true. Funnily, i have recently been to hippodrome in leicester square after some time. I normally take the 00 wheel on the corner, just because it is always crowded. To my surprise it was spinning in only one direction. It was a TCS wheel and am damn sure that it used to alternate in my previous visits. Is something changing, no clue!!

1. You usually have to register in order to enter the casino.
see below, you"Do" have to be a member....not usually, which used to involves proof of ID. as recently as 6 or 7 years ago, you had to wait 24 hours before you could use the casino but now its instant. just name and DOB since 2007. They will take your photo
2. You have to provide ID every time you cash out your chips at the cage. No you dont for most moderate wins, see below  If you're trying to keep your anonymity, then this is bad.  Furthermore when you get banned in the UK at one casino, you often find that you're banned at most of the casinos. I wouldnt know  ^-^
3.  It's one thing to win in the UK, it's another to actually get paid without the casino disputing your win... if you're lucky enough to have won big. Ive seen some big wins paid out at the cage without a blink. They wernt 500K or somthing though It is definitely not the ideal place for AP players.   The players in the US are use to open doors and being able to come and go without having to provide their names. How do you declare your tax at the cage then if they dont know who you are. (that wasnt rhetorical, Im just asking)
4. The US casinos generally take much larger bets. I can believe that.
5. The wheels in the US don't alternate spin direction. I genuinely didnt know that.

Caleb, have you played in UK Casinos?  (that wasnt "Have you ever even played in UK casinos ...duh?")  ....I hate text

Admission, minimum age limit, identification

In most casinos in the United Kingdom you are now admitted instantly and you can play casino games straight away. However, some private casino clubs may still require that you apply for membership first, as before.

With the new UK gambling laws, starting 15 December 2007 the membership application requirement on casinos has been lifted. You are simply required to register your name, your date of birth and a digital photo of yourself is also taken on the spot.

The ID/Passport is no longer necessary, but it is recommended as there may be instances where they may need to ask for identification, such as if you look younger than 18 years of age, which is the UK legal minimum gambling age. Also, if you win a large sum of money (say £1,000), they may ask you for identification at the cash desk before paying you.

The membership system - The way it was before
(Some high-end private casino clubs in the UK may still apply this system.)

In the United Kingdom the casinos are Clubs. To play at a UK casino you needed to become a member first and you are required to fill in a membership application form.

They will want to see your passport or photo driving licence or bankers card supported by a household bill issued within the last three months. Although acceptance is normally automatic, they may at their discretion decline your application.

Once you become a member, you are normally given a membership card straight away or sent to you by post, and you do not require to produce your ID/Passport on your subsequent visits.

Cruise ships are worse

My last cruise myself and others were up over a thousand

Playing 5 dollar chips

Pit boss nodded and the rudest dealer you could imagine came

Time to place bets before no more bets:  dropped to 3 seconds

Forgot to mention, I was the only person playing at that time. I have too many issues with these people here.

Why dont you *try* airball

I love it. No dealer. No pit. Do what you want. Pen. Paper. Whatever does not matter.

Play low money on a 3 dollar airball wheel to try it out

Ya never know your strategies may work on it.

We talked about this. If I am betting heavy on the 7 11 30, I dont want the ball "released" at a given point AND a particular speed on purpose.

Well that is a good point

I have seen (many times) heavy betters at resorts world hit numbers

I say for $3 a spin its worth a try lol

To try it out with a couple bucks? I agree but I would most likely play max bets and I cannot trust it or chance it.

My overall question on this thread was >> Do you guys agree with me, NOT tipping until the $3,500 was accounted for?
