Odds and payouts are different things. If either the odds or payouts don't change, then the result is the same - eventual loss.

Which bet location for Martingale is Best?

Fellow pilgrims,

I have been playing around with martingales for quite some time.  The reason I tend to like a martingale is because with it you win rapidly.  That is until you hit the loss.  And, the more steps in the martingale, the more you usually win before the loss.  And, sometimes you can go a long time without a loss and pull way ahead.

Now people are always maligning the poor ole martingale, but it is also one of the most common progressions used in our every day systems.

Take our vertical matrix idea.  It is a 2:1 martingale.  Many of the other dozens, lines, streets, etc... use a martingale bet progression.  Many may not realize that that's what they're doing.

Do you think a martingale is a valid progression and if so, do you have a favorite payoff that you like to use it on?

Of course, I can only use a limited martingale so as to control my losses.

It is a negative progression which people condemn also.  Unfortunately, I have tried positive progressions and am able to lose with them just as easily as I can with a negative progression.  I actually feel that I have a better chance to come out ahead a reasonable amount using the negative progression.

All thoughts and comments welcome.

In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

me personally i would on use martingale on even chances where you can get to use it full potential (more than 7 steps) other bet selections i would prefer to use their natural progressions based on their payouts.

which i guess is the same for even chances when you think about it....

in that case i have no opinion.. :P

Dear George,
Martingale is the easiest to use progression for roulette and at times considered as a panacea of this game specially when we play ECs. I personally feel that this progression should better always be avoided and I have very strong reasons for it.
1. This progression can never deliver more than 1 unit win
2. It grows in size very rapidly risking the entire bankroll;
3. It doesn't and can't ensure any winning even after taking big risks.
Let's see an example, if we are betting on RED and it doesn't appear 7-8 times in a row( very usual for any session) we will have to risk 1+2+4+8+16+32+64+128= 255 units just to earn 1 units and even if we kept winning 1 units for 100 times and lost once, we will be in huge loss and if we lost more times, just imagine the volume of our loss.
My dear, martingale just creates a Mirage but never quenches the thirst. Avoid it. I do not recommend it even for hit and run. If u are willing to risk upto 255 units, you should put 255 units on any one EC in one go, that risk has atleast potential to pay you big.

I'm thinking Martingale for the dozens, lines, quads, etc.  (the fewer numbers involved in my opinion, the better for the progression.) and even then a slow rise (i.e. dozens 1,1,1,2,2,3,3...if win, go back two spaces type)

Proof,
we are talking about martingale only.
