A dollar won is twice as sweet as as a dollar earned

when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?

well if you wanna support them you can, nothing wrong with that, at least you giving money purposely and not being screwed by casino

It’s no exaggeration to call FOBTs “the crack cocaine of gambling”. If we had a gambling product classification, similar to that of drugs, FOBTs would be class A. The metrics by which this would be measured are stake, speed of play and game content. FOBTs permit stakes of up to £100, every 20 seconds, on casino games such as roulette â€" a highly addictive game of chance that had historically been confined to casinos, where it’s played at about one spin every two minute

See Steve realistic spin time and not me but from a reputable newspaper

Indeed why not just take them out the bookies, then get back to casinos of old, have to become a member, then more people in there playing and longer time for a spin, no longer the stupid unrealistic time of 30 seconds, oh yeah its all about E/C, might as well just have a mat with no inner field

The report came out the other day Notto and the suggestion is that they should be reduced to anywhere from a £2 stake up to £30. The Labour manifesto has it at a £2 stake.....but you can say anything you like that sounds good when in opposition.....after all, they were the ones that wanted to create all these 'super casinos'. I am pretty split on the whole thing. I mean, you can walk into a B+M Casino in my town and the max bet on a number is £500. You can go online and pretty much bet what you like as well. The only thing I don't really like about the FOBT's is the culture it has brought to the high street. You can guarantee wherever there are 3-4 bookmakers all lined up next to each other, that there are also a couple of pawnshops just across the road as well. In fact, one small independent bookmaker in my area even has the cheek to put some money lending leaflets on his front counter! I told him what a parasitic bar steward he was and walked out. Anyway, let's see what happens. The lobbyists will be wining and dining the tories as we speak!

FOBTs essentially made speed roulette highly accessible to the masses and the vulnerable. They are worth more than horse racing to the bookies. They are the only reason bookmakers suddenly started appearing on high streets again and in the strangest locations you wouldn't think there would be demand for a betting shop. They are the reason bookies stay open late. The bookies moan about 1000s of jobs being lost if tighter restrictions are placed on FOBTs. Bullshit. Those jobs shouldnt exist in the first place. FOBTs weren't hardly there 10-15 years ago and they're not suddenly gonna go out of business. They can just close those shit hole bookies that popped up purely to rob the poor fools that don't know any better with FOBTs. A market correction if you will, back to the norm.

Not that it bothers me or anything  :ooh:

That's true, last time i was in London i was shocked!

It is a shock to the masses and thats why the press picked up on it with their BS "lets save the poor slot junkies from themselves" routine.

Its no shock to me as I go in Casinos.

I saw a taxi driver throw a grand down for £25 chips. He blew it in 3 spins. He missed 2 spins as he went to the cashier and come back with another grand. He lost that in 4 spins.

2K in 9 spins which was about 15 mins.

I got talking to some Chinese guy once. He reckoned he was down 8k on the week.

I haven't lived in the UK for nearly 20 years.
When I walked down the High St,in the UK,I don't remember anyone dragging me through the door,to have a bet.

I have said it earlier, there are plenty of nameless people who lose more than 100k.

You will continue to bleed thousands until you stop gambling mostly because you have none to lose anymore.
