I cried for most of last night watching the horrific Connecticut murders unfold. I dont know what to feel. I feel like giving up. Poor little innocent children taken from us in such an unfathomable and unneccessary way.
I just cant stop filling up with tears. I wish I could pray for them, but Im not religious. i dont know what to do really. Im feeling real pain and i dont even know them.
It unimaginable horror
What is the f.uckin world coming to.

Horrific to say the least. This will keep happening though if you let deranged individuals have easy access to guns. Let's hope the USA finally wakes up. I'm not holding my breath. :(
@ Turner: It is an horrendous thing to have happened. Our thoughts must be with those affected by this latest atrocity.
@ Furple: I dont think there is an easy answer is there? I mean if everyone was told to hand there guns in surely only the law-abiding people would do so?
Blood is correct.
"Well, I'd go rob a bank (and maybe shoot someone), but it's illegal to carry a gun." Yep, that's reality!
I am sick. I own a gun. It is my responsibilty to keep it away from loonies. If I'm mentally ill, it's some else's responsibility to take it from me.
Right here in my city we had a man douse his own wife and child with gasoline and burn them both. Mother died; child scarred for life. I am not for public torture, but I could put my Smith and Wesson between his eyes and send him on his way in a heartbeat.
A devil threw a fruit jar full of acid off a bridge and--well, it was Dr. Phil's sister--you can imagine the horror.
Last week a man threw a dog off a bridge and another kicked one to death.
A man killed his room mate with a hammer.
We had a few knife murders.
One man beat another to death with his fists.
And let's not forget Timothy and his fertilizer bomb. Killed 163. Airplanes and box cutters? Took down the trade towers.
What should we outlaw?
Sam
Still proud to be an American!
Beyond sad for sure
Like Sam said...taking guns away is not the answer though...law abiding citizens will be defenseless against those that are not...
I don't know if this is true but I heard that the Colorado Batman massacre shooter had several theatres closer to his home than the one he selected...but the theatre he went to did not allow concealed carry...all the others did. Captive targets that can't shoot back...not a level playing field for sure.
Crime is lower in states with concealed carry.
If you know your victim can't fight back its not a fair fight...and the good guys always lose in this equation if you take away their right and ability to defend themselves and their loved ones.
Why on earth do you guys need or want guns? A looney with a knife is not likely to kill 20 children within a few minutes. Of course this is not going to stop sick individuals committing horrendous acts but removing the gun factor would have stopped this. You guys need to wake you are killing your children. :(
This is bull. we have loonies in our country too. We don't have easy access to guns here. if we did then these type of mass murders would be happening here as well. They don't for the simple fact due to gun laws. >:(

And this is why your children are being killed. This mentality infuriates me. >:(
furple....please respect the fact that my post wasnt about gun ownership.. it was about the death of these poor children. Please start your own post about Gun law.
Furple...sorry to have pissed you off...if you're that unhappy with me I sure am glad you don't have a gun now ;)
Horror. i dont know what to say.
but those things keep happening with horrifying frequency. Not long ago fist time it happened even in Russia where such things had never happened before. But there were only adults involved.
Nevertheless mass murder...
the world is in decline and it seems to get sicker and more unbelievable with each and every day....unspeakable and unimaginable tragedies just keep snowballing
that's not true. 2 world wars, Cambodia, Vietnam in 60s-70ss, Afghanistan in 80s, Ruanda in '94 --
all that was much worse.

Exactly so why give people legal access to guns. If you are ok with this then why not let your citizens have free access to hand grenades, chemical and nuclear weapons.
mentality from our founding fathers here in the USA... the land of the free and the home of the brave where we cling to our guns and religion
Not looking to get into a gun control debate on the roulette forum...but I do believe if we ban guns only the bad guys will have them...and they will have them...and then the rest of us just become prey
that's what I believe
okay on the second post... if we are going to spin this into the mass marketing of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction to the general public...then I guess I could go the other way and say people use knives, cars, tools, ropes, flammables and almost every other household product as a weapon to kill people including your bare hands. Although it has been said that the best way to make a man more agreeable is to cut off his hands...I'm hoping you're not suggesting that. Where does it stop? Criminals will always be better armed than their victims but if the law abiding can't possibly defend themselves I believe there will be more and more victims and that is what you and I can both agree on...we want less victims we just disagree on how to achieve that end
I swear this is true............
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper allowed his weapon to fall into the hands of a three year old child who shot himself in the head. Just heard it on the news.
Now--you ask--how does a trained officer of the law allow this to happen?? Good question!
Folks, it never ends. It just morphs from one tragedy to another.

it should be about stats....the day these things kill more people than guns, more often and in environments where the risk should is minimal, then it would be time to do something about them....take for instance cars and planes, something is being done to make them safer and laws are becoming more rigid.....same should be with guns and gun ownership.........plus, the fact that xyz is also bad does not mean abc is not or we should do nothing about it ;)

Is this the UK furple. If so I can remember Hungerford and Dunblane and there have been others.
I still advocate tight gun control but when individuals go off the rails all hell breaking loose is always a possibility.

So by your reckoning if this looney didn't have access to guns then he would have still gone into this school and murdered 26 innocent women and children.

No it's not. We had an incident awhile back where this young individual stabbed this tourist to death. He had revealed that he was planning to go into his old school and shoot everybody. The only reason he didn't because he couldn't get access to any guns.
Kids should never access guns. That's problem one. Other problem is that kind of thing happens often when the society has serious problems.

Well...it is in off topic. I didnt intend a gun discussion, and we dont have delete post anymore. I just wanted to express how sad it was that innocent people, especially children got murdered.
The gun law in USA is not really the issue.
A gun does nothing without pulling the trigger.
My uncle Bob in the US (Major General Robert Sadler) killed himself while cleaning his gun whilst loaded. Turns out his second wife did it for insurance.
See, in UK, you couldnt get near to that scam because no one has guns in their home. 58 gun deaths in 12 months in the UK.
I do have a nice set of Chefs Knifes in a wooden block though. I havnt killed anyone with them yet.
Just sliced the turkey on Chrismas day.

we tend to categorize this type of incident as terrorist act--Muslim terrorist such as Oaklahome bombing, Norway Massacre etc. Later we come to realize these are acts of christian terrorist or orthodox terrorist! we need to start cleaning ourselves first.
Look, stop feeling sorry for yourselves, "the system", or the "poor souls" who die every day. You too will die, one day.
Everything evens out. A fair god/universe/karma, whatever you want to call it, won't forget you... certainly, isn't waiting for you to perfect our world.

catalyst...do you live in the USA?
the "cling to our guns and religion" is a play off of our President getting his digs in on us Midwestern Americans.......sarcasm the first part "land of the free and home of the brave"...well...that's just all-American
I wasn't making any direct or veiled references to religious idiologies of crazy people doing horrendous things
Nut-cases will always be amongst us...you just can't reason with crazy and a person who is willing to sacrifice their life for whatever their cause or motivation is a difficult force to stop...you just hope they are too stupid to be able to execute their plan, be aware of your surroundings, and pray everyone escapes
Geeeez...all this on a roulette site....ugggg

If you've not begun to question your own sanity on many levels, how could you know how you, yourself, would fare under similar surroundings, etc?
Hardly a simple question with a simple answer. LoL, only on a roulette board.

Sure was....My dads sister Auntie Cathline went to US and married him. She died of cancer. This was his second wife.
as we say in russian he warmed a snake on his chest. Quite sad. Such a diabolic plan to kill a man.
To load his gun knowing the way he cleans it. She surely paid attention at the procedure.
But he made a fatal mistake. Each time u clean the gun, u gotta check if the bullet is not in the barrel. In the military it usually looks like this: the platoon stands up before one of commanders or sergeant, the rifles are 45 degrees to the air (the magazine is always out of course), the bolt is pulled back by each soldier, and the inspecting
commander inserts his finger into the barrels of the guns, one by one. Only when u r done, u r allowed to do it.
Those rules are written by BLOOD my friends.
one day on a shooting range, i got such hysterical yells from my platoon commander because after shooting on the target i did not stop with my rifle at 45 degrees, i LOCKED the bolt, put the rifle on my shoulder and just walked to him. He started yelling at me "you f***** wanna kill me?
like that? " He took my rifle and start shooting hysterically into the ground just before us.
I will never forget it.
those rules are very important. If u clean your weapons never forget about the possible bullet in the barrel even if u did not use it.
The general would be alive by now if he followed the rules.
No matter how many times you unload a gun, there is no such thing as an unloaded gun. Right now my gun and ammo are in two different places in a drawer six inches apart.
The gun is loaded!
I have two theories as to why this kid did this.
1. He hated the world so much that he wanted to leave it hurting. Otherwise, he would have just killed himself and went on.
2. He did not have to guts to kill himself without doing something so horrible that the could not live with the thing he had done. This gives him motivation and enough momentary bravery to kill himself.
At church today a four year-old came running through the door hollering "Grandpa" and jumped into his arms. That was tough to see.
