At midnight we/Croatia/will be officially part of EU.....personally am unhappy about the event.
I have no axe to grind in the event but I haven't seen much positive come out of the EU for most of the countries. Maybe the idea was good to start with, but we humans tend to screw things up pretty good.
I'm hoping it doesn't do any harm to Croatia. My wife still wants us to take a vacation there some day. Split was one of the nicest places we visited back in 1997.

Definitely an "Off-Topic" subject! :P
Croatians will be able to live in other EU countries to play roulette?
There is a lot of good things in it, and some which works less good. To be at the outer border of Eu has some special problem. The current crisis in EU was expected, and EU has very difficult to solve some problem due to it must be agreed among all states, there is not an EU federal authority.
The most serious problem during the Euro crisis is the extreme right which grows in many contries, Europe's only enemy is Europe.
We are in but not the Euro, and some here think it is better, as they do not understand the problem with exporting to Euro countries which is the main markets, make the fall of 30% of the Euro hard to compete getting SEK 8.5 instead of 11 for an Euro. An other modern state as Germany are better of and can boast the trade due to cheaper currency.
--Germany lost 2 ww but it won one financial now....very smooth way of battling.
