Title: Delphi/Pascal Tutorials?
Post by: ThomasGrant on Sep 20, 11:29 AM 2010
Hi there.
You may have seen my latest post about Beta Testers.
link:://rouletteforum.cc/coding-for-roulette/beta-testers-needed/ (link:://rouletteforum.cc/coding-for-roulette/beta-testers-needed/)

For those that are inclined.
I could start a tutorial series on Coding with Delphi.
For those that have Delphi 7 or 10.
Or for those that wish to have Delphi 7.
I can give you instructions on how to get it.
Just pm me.
Only serious people who wish to learn how to code should send me a pm on Delphi.
That is if you don't have Delphi 7.
Add your name below.
And send me a pm.

Then, if I get enough members/students.
I will start my tutorial series.
Just basically all that I have learnt so far.

You can follow along.
If you wish.
Buy the end.
You should have a good understanding of how to code.
How to create your very own programs.
How to create your very own bot. Well sort of.
It wont be automatic until I can figure out how to do it.
Victor has given me some links.
And many ideas.

Thanks again Victor.

Thank you very much for any programming education you can share with the fellows from the forum.

Very appreciated.

P.S. maybe you can consider also making something for "FREE PASCAL" ( link:://:.freepascal.org/ (link:://:.freepascal.org/) ). This compiler is not propietary, which can incentivate users. everyone loves a freebie!

A full IDE can be found here: link:://:.bloodshed.net/devpascal.html (link:://:.bloodshed.net/devpascal.html)

Thanks Victor for those links.
Still waiting to see if there is any interest in me teaching what I have learnt so far.
I need names of members.
I also need to know if they have Delphi.
Or if they want to have Delphi.

Hello dear Thomas, since you starting your teaching Journey with propietary program Delphi, perhaps this is precisely the moment to think more seriously on the free alternative (at least give it a try and see how large is the gap -and if it is unsurmountable).

Yes, everybody knows there are pirated copies of programming environments, but there is also the option to use an open version legally and offer it at no cost (financial or moral)  to members via free compilers, so why not? :)

It is a better practice and helps the programming ecosystem!

Food for thought as the journey starts.

Hmmm, err perhaps not.
I tried it.
And it has no GUI.
I mean it is just pascal.
Well, it has a gui.
But what I mean is that you cant see the forms or the bot.
Only the code.

Ok, Victor.
And everyone else.

I may have found two alternatives.

When I went to the download page of this one.
I started to download.
Then my Kaspersky picked up a trojan in the program.
So I am not sure if it is any good or not.
I may turn of my security.

This site.
I could not find the download link.

I was about to learn visual basic, but maybe Delphi is better..
what you guys think?

And no Thomas, I don't have Delphi yet  :(

Ok, Did you read my first post?
Please do as it says.

If not.
And you want to learn Visual Basic.
Then go ahead.

Victor knows a great deal about basic.

This post is for SERIOUS PEOPLE who wish to learn Delphi/Pascal.
Only people who have read the post.
Replied with interest.
And have SENT me a PM.

Will be considered.

I will only start the tutorial series if I have at least 3 or more members that are interested.
If not. Then I will continue coding.
And this post will disappear.

I'd suggest some of you guys take on the teaching offer by Thomas since programming is primarily about CONCEPTS and THINKING and then about SYNTAX.

If you learn programming concepts, regardless of it being in PASCAL or BASIC or C++/Python, etc., then you'll be able to learn programming thinking and get used to the way of structuring your code to bring a solution.

As far as I understand Delphi is a very robust language for windows programming; roulette bots, trackers and testers included :)

It's ok mate. More likely the best path is for you to continue coding, while giving the thread some days to get the message to the gross of interested visitors.

I read your full post my friend

I never post anything before read the whole thread.
I was just asking that because every programming language can make a bot, but there are ones better than others.. As I don't know much about Delphi I just wanted to know what is it more specific at.

For example you can use Matlab to code a bot, for Visual ballistics it would be better than VB, but for mechanical system VB is way better
Just an example through

Hope you haven't interpret me wrong Thomas.
I'm a serious guy and I'm very interested in you offer, as I had exposed before my wish to be able to code =)

I see your point Victor, I think this will be a great experience for me :)

As I said before, count with me Thomas !!

Hmmm, well that is one.
Need at least 3 for me to get going.

I did mention in my post.
For him to send me a PM (Private Message)
I mention it a few times in my posts on this topic.

So I sent him a PM instead.
With some instructions.

Lets see if he can follow those.

I wont wast my time teaching if no one listens.
Or pays attention. Or does not read the posts.
Or does not send me a PM.

I would like at least 3 members.

All interested members must send me a PM(Private Message)

This is crucial. As I will send you instructions on how to get Delphi.

That is if we can't find an alternative.

For those that can follow instructions.
If you can follow my instructions.
On the process.

Then you are eligible to join the ranks of programmers.

I like to keep things simple.

Will try to explain as much as I can.

Show you why and how they work.
Or at least try to.

I have sent you a PM(Private Message.)

Since it seems you forgot to send me one.

I did ask on several occasions in my posts.

Please read the PM carefully.

And try to follow instructions.

How about you Victor?
Would you like to join in?
I know your busy.
And I know your working on the tracker.
Still waiting on an update for that.
Plus waiting for you and I to get together and do some more test.
