I'm looking for 2 more moderators. Any takers or nominations?
You will need to be reasonably active on the forum (at least reading it), and be fair. The rules of the forum are very simple.
Hello Steve,
I nominate Turner, GLC and 6th-sense.
Thanks and Regards
I nominate Warrior and Katilla :d
I nominate ignatus.
I nominate Skakus & Ignatus
Unfortunately, I don't have the time to be a moderator. I do read some of the posts, but most of them I don't have time to read. They have to catch my attention first and most don't. I'm not saying the ones I don't read aren't worth reading. I just have to limit my time on the forum.
Any of the guys named would do a fine job in my estimation.
GLC
Seriously guys, do you really want to waste time arguing over crap? Whether or not someone has been wrong in some way, it is still relatively petty. I know better than anyone what its like to have "friends", but there are better things to use energy on.
I've been watching the thread although no need to respond until now.
Ken, it would be either one or both forums.
The moderator would need to be stable in the head. It is ok to get emotional once in a while, but moderators set an example for everyone's behaviour. In addition to enforcing and following basic rules, moderators need to:
* Not moderate other moderators (instead, contact me about issues with other moderators)
* Be mentally stable (the forums have a lot of volatile people)
So far it seems nobody wants to step up to the plate. Sure you will be the target of attacks, but thats all part of it. I'll keep the thread open and waiting.
ps you can nominate yourself of course
i nominate Torpedus and Bulletus

I got the feeling they were being sarcastic Ignatus, of course I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first or last time.

by the seriousness of this thread i don't think it was a joke.
why would someone mention my name by no reason just to belittle me , like you are trying to do ddarko?
let's keep this thread serious.
it's up to steve and you forum members to decide who will be moderator, not me

Like I'm trying to do ?
You really are a lost cause, & don't worry Steve won't be stupid enough to make you a mod ;)
If Skakus & Superman could post here to say if they were being sarcastic or not, I'd greatly appreciate it
As for you Ignatus, you finally get your wish, I'm totally & utterly washing my hands of you.

It would be nice if there were an incentive with the job.
Something like a $20 bonus chip at the casino of choice.
to be serious though i would say Ausguy and Ddarko

thank you for thinking of me Iggiv  but I must say no.
Health issues dictate I just couldn't guarantee the time required to commit.
Plus, ignatus would pull his face EVERYTIME I asked him to post in the notepad instead of the actual forum.
He would accuse me of persecuting him, and it would get even more ridiculous than it is now :(

I would say Ausguy and Chris555p
Ignatus, ddarko is correct, I was kidding mate and I am sure skakus was too, but in no way to insult or belittle you, I like you, you make me wince AND laugh sometimes, may the grass force be with you
Something, where Ignatus made yet another method thread, that made me laugh a few days ago was when someone asked what the trigger was and skakus made his reply, too funny!
How about the new chaps Lee and RichBailey86?
Steve mentioned that nobody stepped up to the plate. I think he is more interested in volunteers than sacrificial goats. I'm quite active reading, although not an insatiable poster. I'm as saddened by some of the personal attacks that slip in here as anyone, as I think it stifles creativity and injures our community. Should any of those mentioned not be able or willing, I would be more than happy to lend my time and efforts. I'm my own boss now and have nothing but time!

Ok Colbster, I had a look through your past posts and you seem to be a stable and level-headed person so I assigned you moderator permissions. Thanks for your assistance. The forum rules are at link:://:.rouletteforum.cc/index.php?topic=9426.0 (link:://:.rouletteforum.cc/index.php?topic=9426.0) and I added a part to assist moderators, as below:
1. Your job is simply to enforce the basic rules above, without bias.
2. Expect that you may sometimes be the target of attacks. Don't take it personally. You can't keep everyone happy at the same time.
3. Do not moderate other moderators. If another moderator does something inappropriate, let me know, and please give actual examples.
4. Be very careful about what posts moderate. You need to find the balance between allowing free speech, and something that's over the line. People get very upset when you moderate their posts, so this is only a step you take if something is clearly inappropriate.
5. If you are unsure of what to do in particular cases, please ask me directly.
6. Become familiar with how the forum's moderation features are used. The last thing we want is to completely mess up the forum. There are regular backups, but we'd rather avoid disasters.
Also there have been other names mentioned of which I feel are a good match too, but some have declined. The position is still open. Whoever does the job needs to actually want it. None of it is difficult. If anything you will just occasionally get people on your case about decisions you made.
Colbster is good
Good choice, welcome aboard.
Ken
Great choice
Thanks, fellas. I'm looking forward to, well, pretty much doing what I already do. Reading your masterworks and occasionally coming up with my own scatterbrained ideas.
Please remember, anything in the mod section stays private.
Ken
what happens in the bush stays in the bush. If Mr J falls in love with Colbster and flirts with him in Mod lounge it should not go beyond it
8)
Yes we keep privates in the bush. Or maybe I lost track of the conversation.
@Steve >> IF YOU HAVE TIME. Is there anyway you could make my avatar pic the same as my Asian girl at VLS?
Ken
I did it but didnt you have permissions to do it?
I dont think people really understand my computer skills. (lol)
Thanks, that was fast (I love the Asian ladies).
Ken
God bless you both for putting that Asian woman from VLS over here! I'm as much a fan of Bruce Willis as the next guy, but....wow she is amazing!
Australia is a wild country with a wild military. Privates in the bush, only sergeants in the barracks.

I have heard horror stories with Australia regarding.... Snakes, spiders, crocs and sharks. Am I wrong?
Ken
Maybe Mr J would like to live in Thailand like the gent posting at LTW. He seems to have found paradise there.
Mr J - To some extent you are correct but the most dangerous place for people are the roads & highways & guns. Even drop dead gorgeous bimbo's die before they get old & ugly.
Here's a few countries & their yearly road death tolls (nearly 1.3 MILION PEOPLE World Wide are killed EACH YEAR on the roads).
Road Deaths p/a
OZ 1,200 OZ guns - 200 p/a (strict gun ownership laws)
UK 2,175
Russia 28,000
USA 37,000. USA guns - 32,000 p/a (less strict gun laws) Even on a pro-rata 13 : 1 population basis OZ would be 13 x 200 = 2,600.
Here's a few stats on creature deaths in OZ - Snake - 2 p/a, mostly because they were in a remote area & they couldn't get an anitivenom shot.
Spider - nil since 1980 thanks to antivenom.
Crocs - Averages about 1 per year. Like with 'gators, go into their enviroment & suffer the consequences.
Sharks - 217 deaths since 1791 & currently about 2 per year. As with Crocs swim in their world & you may
also suffer the consequences ?
Due to media/jaws/movie beat ups it suits the end aim to get people to see/pay for what they have. People cringe/sweat/freak out over sharks, snakes etc. vs the daily reporting of gun & road deaths & so the usually normal Ho Hum/non sensitive/easily forgotten non response.
As is easily apparent it's not nature that should be the concern but mankind themselves = "WE" are our own worst enemies.
QuoteSnakes, spiders, crocs and sharks. Am I wrong?
Its not that bad. Sharks dont come on land, so dont swim. Snakes rarely come indoors, just dont leave doors open. Crocs usually stick close to water, so pitch tent 1km from water. And you can squish spiders if you stay awake to see them.
Nah but really you just dont walk through long grass in summer. Don't go swimming in some parts that are notorious shark areas. Dont get close to the water's edge in the top half of Australia, and dont put your hands where spiders lurk. At least we dont have roaming grizzy bears.
Turner is now a moderator too (on vls also). Thanks to both of you for volunteering.
