You have 3/37 to lose $340.  That's a loss of -27.57.  You have 34/37 to win $20.  That's a gain of 18.38.  Net loss of $9.19 per spin, or 2.7% of your $340 bet.  Stagnate betting will never beat the house odds - you have to introduce some other characteristic to your bets (Money management, progression, shifting bet selection, etc.) to ever get past the house edge.

For me ?

Money Management = flat bet

Progression = No flat bet

Shifting Bet = That's were I believe the difference can be made !!!!!

One thing I like to do now and again is to go over to the testmystrategy website and just play around with the settings.

Here is a 1000 spin test where I played the first 9 rows (numbers 1-27)

I don't configure any progressions, I just run it flat betting.

You can still get big swings just playing like this. Now imagine how bigger the swings would be with a progression. It could end up killing your bankroll playing 75% of the board.

Conversely....you could have played the other 10 numbers with an up as you win progression and had a field day.

It's worth running these tests just to see these swings in action. It may make you think twice about how safe progressions are and give some insight into how the games ebb and flow.
