Title: Legal to play in the US?
Post by: Crapshooter on Dec 20, 09:51 AM 2015
Are there any online gambling sites that are even legal to play for money in the US? I have friends who would like to play, however, they tell me that gambling is illegal in many states.

Try Five Dimes and Jackpot Capital Online Casinos.  Both have Live Games and US Friendly.

I never did understand this. So that means.....someone is breaking the law, correct? Its either a law or it isn't.

I agree with Ken.  In Arizona, to the best of my knowledge, it's illegal to gamble on-line.  If I play at FIVE DIMES or JACKPOT CAPITAL, isn't that illegal?  Even if they will let me sign up and play.

I'm so confused. :o ???

Either the casino is breaking the law OR you are......or both (imo).

There are some states that are "online casino friendly".  Usually the online
casino will prohibit bettors from some states.  I live in Texas and it is "online friendly".

....but I dont think "online friendly" means legal. Do I think you'll get into any type of trouble? No.

I'll give a good analogy. In many states it is illegal to use a radar detector in your car but in most cases, you can PURCHASE the detector in those very same states. (say what?)

You have the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act

link:s://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unlawful_Internet_Gambling_Enforcement_Act_of_2006

Some states only ban Internet Sports Gambling however.
(Texas is one, there are others-the online casinos know which ones.)

Goes state by state

Some online casinos only accept players from certain states

My state online gambling is illegal. But i can still play at 5 dimes

Ive never heard of anyone getting in trouble. Its a gray area

I'm in Pennsylvania and from what I understand, there are no laws here specifying online gambling to be illegal. Basically, it comes down to an age requirement and if you meet the minimum age, you're okay.

Let's go!!!  Funny that you mentioned it because I was just talking about Mt. Airy the other day. I haven't been there in ages and I should make a trip over there soon.
