I was speaking with a colleague who has lost a lot of money betting one champions league matches the last two days.
He bet on
1 draw ( Liverpool vs man city)
2 Barcelona win (Barcelona vs Roma)
3 Real Madrid win (Real Madrid vs Juventus)
4 Bayern Munich win (Bayern Munich vs Sevilla )
What a disaster ! Well logically his bets seem fine but he is now down !
Sports betting is simply you vs everyone else with the bookie taking a cut. Focus on value bets.
Flat bet on the underdogs.
Who would have guessed liverpool defeated by the swans, right after defeating "citeh"
Well, it's complicated, shitty and sometimes can get nasty too !

It is not too surprising.
Juergen Klopp's teams have been known to do that -- going from the highest point one week to the lowest point the following week.
It has something to do with his emotionally hyper-charged managing style -- he cannot keep his team motivated at the same intense level every week, especially when he faces a very strong team one week and a very weak team the following week.
This bipolar behavior is a fundamental nature of his style of football -- or what he calls, " heavy metal football." It can get both emotionally and physically exhausting for both him and his players.

Upsets happen in all sports, including football.
You cannot say that football betting sucks just because of a group of results one particular week.
You have to take a holistic perspective when you do such an evaluation -- that is, you have to look at the results over an entire season of betting.
If you make bets based on facts and rational thinking, more often than not, you will enjoy a decent degree of success in this endeavor (more so than in betting on games of chance, like roulette).

Your colleague got sold on the media hype. City tiki taka football are over-rated while Barcelona needs to rejuvenate their ageing squad.
City's loss is predictable on the back of a come from behind defeat by United. They are likely to lose to Spurs this weekend capping a 4 defeat rout.
Roma, like Juventus, expectedly adopted an offensive setup to press high for a quick goal from the long ball. Roma bagged the goals. So did Juventus, too bad they conceeded the late penalty.
RM and Bayern bet for win not wise when both teams are likely to sit back to defend their 1st leg lead.
Favourites to win CL -
1. Real Madrid
2. Bayern Munich
3. Roma(replace Barca)

Yeah that mo salah is one hell of a lead singer. Another image that comes to mind rather obvious is blitzkrieg. Aaaaaannnd an f1 car stuck in london traffic at 4pm hahaa
Still doc, would you have put your money on swan city?

No, of course not.
That was an upset -- and such upsets are simply unavoidable, even when they happen in groups, like they did this week.
You would have to financially and psychologically absorb them when they come.
If you cannot, then sports betting is not for you.
Might as well stick to roulette. >:D >:D
Well said doc
You know, I keep thinking those upsets happen too rarely for one to take a steady advantage from. And on the other hand, the same upsets occur frequently enough to destroy whatever profit one might get from playing the "safer" bets...
Only solid way to win in football and other sports is through arbing...soon get banned though ..but ways around it is paying people good money to open accounts with there id...

Two years ago I bought RebelBetting software it costed me 700 euro, unfortunately it wasn't worth the money because most of the bookies where I live impose 5% commission, add to that they limit your bets quickly and a lot of of international bookies don't accept customers from
Other countries so in conclusion it ended with 0 profit and a lot of efforts
Pretty good for the uk here though...money is really only made by big bets as you know yourself you only get a guaranteed percent...
That’s why you bet big before limited and need other accounts
If you were restricted by sports books to place money why on earth did you invest in rebel betting software?
Only hard work when you are making 3 or 4 percent on low stakes

The 5% Commission killed the arbitrage for me ... local bookies charges 5% commission and just a few foreign bookies accept international players.
Back the underdog or back a team losing at half time ,enough come back to make a profit
