Title: A couple points regarding using dollar chips
Post by: MrJ on May 30, 02:14 PM 2010
First off, why do people use them? lol Granted, if you have a small BR, well, I guess so. I see players with STACKS of $1s. You could just use $5 chips and it would be much easier.

Another thing that bugs me....lets say you are playing a method with $1 chips. Thats fine but if your number hits, WHY do you need to count how many chips you have on the number? How in Gods name do you NOT know when placing the bet? I see it all the time....."do I have 6 or 7 chips on there"? WTF?   ??? Also, do NOT rely on the dealer to pay you correctly.

They make mistakes just like anyone else. Yes, they do have to get your pay 'verified' but why chance it? ANY bet you lay, if it hits, you should know what your gross/net will be!! Ken

Ken, for some people betting with $1's is very nice and enough.

For instance our senior community member  Lanky is a "1-dollar warrior", he takes $2000 to the casino and bets $1 as unit with his 6-point plan. For years now.

Here our land-based casino starts with Bs. 2.5 (Venezuelan Bolivares) a chip, which equates roughly to $0.55 USD, and everyone's using them. Players who use black chips are actually the exception at the local casino(s) in town. At bigger places there are more of them.

I guess it all depends on location and personal taste.

I thought of something else. Lets say there is a 0 wheel with a min bet of $15. I see a TON of people betting dollar chips (way over $15) at the 00 wheel. WHY WHY WHY WHY?  Ken
