Have a look at these pictures.

What a flood...
Now all that is needed is the Ark... Noah...
Where are you?

We Aussies are a bit like the Irish.
We take the piss out of situations like this to release the stress.

It's totally unbelievable  :o

What does all the water come from?
Is it just much rain or what?

Do you live near this Thomas?

You have my thoughts.. :-*

The water comes from the heavy rain clouds.
And no...
I don't live anywhere near there.
I live in South Australia.
The floods are in Queensland.

Oh heavy rain clouds..

Ok that's good news, unfortunately not for those who lives near there or have family around there..

On the map it looks like it is very many rivers in Queensland. That may do the situation even worse (maybe it have already).

Have you had this much rain before in Australia?

It's due to a combination of the La Nina and global warming which magnifies the La Nina..La Nina is a natural, cyclical event that cools the waters of the Eastern Pacific ocean and warms them in the west, near Australia.  The cycle lasts until the weather system called "El Nino" takes over and does the opposite.La Nina usually happens every 3 to 7 years. This in combination with the global warming is causing these devastating floods across Queeensland and also Victoria. Also recently in South America and Asia.
