Title: Examining the labby progression/money management

Since Frippers' thread "beating roulette with maths" has been going a long time I thought I would code a labby into the bot, I would like you to look at the uploaded file and give me some ideas of ironing out the peaks, theres not many peaks but they are there, do you add more zeros/elements if the progression goes over a certain limit, that sort of thing.

The file was generated while betting on even every spin.

So by the lack of response I gather most think money management is irrelevant, well, over the last 3 days I have been playing with the labouche (spelling?) let's call it the labby from here on. Well, I have run it a few ways trying of course to keep the average bet amount down as much as possible, that's the aim here.

First test (all tests performed against EC's) was with zeros and a 1 like this, 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,1 after a win remove the first (left) digit after a loss replace the first zero from the left with the progression used on the losing bet then using the 1st and last digits as the calculation for the progression. That worked quite well but not for long, a session would arrive that would push the progression into the early hundreds, up to the mid 100s' 455 for example. Scrap that is felt like martingale figures.

So I decided to run some tests with the old school style

1,2,3,4

on a win cross off the 1st and last figure, after a loss, add the last used progression to the end, also using the 1st and last figures as the progression, also worked well until it hit the fan, it ended up with long rows of numbers so appeared to be "getting away from you" as it were.

I then tried to copy Frippers' method, wether I did it right or wrong I do not know but it too went high up the progression scale, I seem to rememeber, if I read right, in his thread he found that too, he then implemented triggers to try to hopefully counteract it, for example, if chasing even and the last X were odd he would wait until that odd sequence ended before resuming his attack. And looking at some of the bets placed and lowest bankroll, it looks scary.

So lastly, for now anyway, until it crashes atleast, I have morphed the 2, start with the zeros and a 1 if the first few bets go ok then it just runs the normal way, removing the first digit after a win and adding to the first zero on aloss and hopefully finishing the labby without it growing, if it can't finish, bad run against, and there are no zeros left then it adds the past progression to the end and removes from that end on a win too which gets rid of the highest figures first.

The attached file is the last few runs of the bot, the first session was hell but it made it through eventually without going deep into the minus AND the highest bet placed was 34 units, total profit was 183 units in 129 spins, betting every spin.

Total for the whole attack was 291 spins, 351 profit highest progression used 34 never went deep into a minus figure lowest point -147 . More testing will follow, and yes, if it fails badly I'll post it here too.

Really just a thread to try and highlight or work with money management using the labby similar to what you and Fripper have been doing, as far as I am concerned the labby is probably the best progression for even chances as it helps keep you in the game much longer, which is inevitably riding out the highs and lows.

The attached file was running RB SAL (thats Red Black, Same As Last) highest progression used 43 chips, total profit 885 units.

Now I haven't attached this morphed mongrel progression to any real EC method yet so am open to opinions on which to use, as we know bet location doesn't make a world of difference but maybe it can be used to fully test the progression, my first tests were just using even as bet location, then this one was SAL.

With these first tests, I SEE that the progression value goes as high as '41' quite a few times.

Given that ur using a Labby formate here, what does Value 41 actaully represent is terms of a result?

Is it 10, 14,16 levels high?

As in 'so' many same set results coming out of the marquee?

units, not levels 41 units was the max bet placed, considor it as 6.5 levels of a standard marty

Do you think you can modify the bots and adjust it to belgian's method ? or is it too complicated ?

Ok some bad news and some good(so far) just running against 1 ec can lead to a long game so in my opinion without some sort of selection method for ecs' it doesn't appear too good.

OK final post now. Ran it again against a single dozen, SAL, for 1000 spins, file attached.

I should have mentioned in the last post, I am resetting the progression when ahead at any stage, you should see that within the file, as far as I am concerned the labby has good legs so far.

Biggest drawdown was -73 biggest bet placed was only 41 units.

The purpose of this thread was just to see if the labby (mongroled) could sustain many losses ina row and still recover to a new high, it did so far.

Joking aside, One couldn't imagine a situation arising like this, with a Standard Marty Progression!

I just re-read the topic on the labby in Monte Carlo Anecdotes and it has a method for the labby that must, I think, eventually bring us out on top.

Go to this link and read the whole article on the labby especially starting on page 95.

I think I will test horror session #7 the way the author details and see if I can come out on top.

It'll be a good exercise for me.

If I can't come out on top then I will incorporate some of our tweaks like playing more than 1 even chance even up to all three and see if that can make any difference.

I'm thinking that if we can come up with a method that can be employed to prevent us from every losing no matter how long it takes to get back to even, that will be good because most of the time we will be winning steadily until we hit the cursed streak.

Or, will we get in the hole so far that we can never get back to the top?

1st test.

Method:  I started with 10 labbies of  1-1-1 for a total investment of 30 units.

I played each labby until I either cleared it or lost.  On a loss, I just went to the next labby.

I put a maximum loss on 1 bet of 5 units.  Once there were no labbies remaining that I could bet and lose less than 5 units on, I totaled all my outstanding units and divided by 10 to see how many units I would need in each of the 10 new labbies.

At the end of my first set of 10, I was 73 in the hole.  That meant that I needed 7 labbies with 7 units in them and 3 labbies with 8 units in them.

At the end of my 2nd set of 10, I was 162 in the hole.

At the end of my 3rd set I was 376 in the hole.

At the end of my 4th set I was 583 in the hole.

At the end of my 5th and final set I was only down 310 units.

This isn't all bad.  My largest bet was only 30 units and I was decreasing in the size of my units for the next 10 labbies.  Unfortunately, I had run out of spins to play.  Were I to go into a more even standard deviation period, I think that I could have recovered completely.  On the other hand if this session from hell had continued, I would have gone deeper into the hole.

I can control all of that by splitting the amount in the hole between more and more labbies, thus keeping my bets down to no more than say 10 or 15 units max.  This would take much longer to work through, but I could control my game more.  I think I would have to stay alive until a good run of hits to fully recover.

I will play around with it some more and report back.

But it looks like you have done the losses correctly.

I still don't think we have recovered enough in the spins of session 7 to win with this particular method.  I think we would have to have another 50 or so spins with a decent hit rate.

Feels a little schizophrenic replying to myself.

Anyway, I don't think this method of labby can handle the loss vs wins of these horror sessions posted by Bayes.  You'd be better off just flat betting.

So, I'm giving up on the multiple labbies.  With this hit rate, I don't think there's any way to come out ahead without placing some pretty high bets and getting lucky enough to have a better hit ratio during those times.

Test the Labby and split it when it becomes higher bets?? On a NOZ it may work, if we can wait for weeks for catching up. The new rules at BV may stop it, as we must make a session ending in 24 hours, otherwise we will be taxed 10% of the amount we are back.  I think the reason they "invented" this is to defend the casino from players which using marathon style, with many smaller units, and do not give up until on track.

At the time the sessions had no limits in time, the NOZ was (almost) beatable. Some stop while a head, other went on until at least break even, which is the expected value, if we got the bankroll and time.

tho, just to be clear for everyone reading, its -10% tax within a 24 hour continuous period of play, on PROFIT only.

If U are in profit, and end the game for a Break, U lose 10% of any profit you have made to that point, with the game.

If we fell back, and the session ends, it is count as profit next session if we win it back.   If we dive and come back in the session it is not taxed.
That make it difficult if it takes very long time to recover.
