As in... "the system is s t o o p I d."  are we not allowed to calll a system s t o o p i d ? (if spelled correctly it is automatically changed.  if i get it into the message, it is edited out.  what is up with that???)

Hello Red Nickels.

Just look at the type of reactions words like that derive:

[...]but I can tell you this: in modern conversational English (especially in internet forums)  word "ignorant" when you call someone like that, has an obvious negative meaning. Close to "stu.p.id" or "fool".  So when you call someone this way, it is already kind of insult and personal attack. I did admit I did not understand how and why your system can work successfully with you and losing with me, but it does not mean I am IGNORANT . And your dwelling on this word clearly shows your lack of manners and/or conversational English.

Hmmmm...Let's think this through carefully...

To call an inanimate object 'stoopid' IS NOT a personal insult -- and should be allowed.

But, of course, to call a person 'stoopid' IS a personal insult and must never be allowed.

Then again, one could argue that to resort to an ungrammatical adjective such 'stoopid' shows a distinctly limited vocabulary and level of literacy, and is probably best avoided altogether -- just in case!!
