Victor, you should run a fund raiser every quarter. As soon as the funds are raised for that quarter you take it down. At the beginning of each quarter you put it on top with a tracking feature that shows the progress of the fund raiser as it approaches the goal.
There is a political website that does this all the time. It works for them. This way you get people that are willing to make a small contribution without having to make a commitment. It also spreads it out a few months. Think about it.

I like Giz's idea. I think it will work.
Another thought. Maybe we could cut the membership into 3 or 4 groups and have each group cover 1 month every quarter. That may encourage more to give.
I think one problem is that many who are members don't really play roulette for real money or if they do, they may lose more than they win and they don't like feeling they need to send in money every month when they're not coming out ahead.
I don't mind chipping in $20 3 or 4 times a year, but I'm a little hesitant to cough up $240 a year. Although, I may consider it if it's tax deductible. (Just kidding) ;D

This may sound like a crazy idea, but maybe you could link the board to some known gambler and if the government recognizes it as (part of the museum) ther could be earmarks for funds in the future.
