hi all,
let's play a little bit. :P
so I suggest a trivia contest,
here are the rules:
I ask the first question . the one that will be the first to answer correctly asks the next question.
If you're unsure whether your answer is correct or not, wait for the question author to prove and than ask your question.
The questions should be related to gambling (preferable topic is Roulette). please do not ask questions or post unrelated comments. I think we will learn more and get fun at the same time!
So here is my first question: ???
Who is the author of the quote : "You cannot beat a Roulette table unless you steal money from it "
answer: Albert Einstein!
I will assume that is the correct answer.
Here is my question!
What was the name of the British engineer who was widely known to have broken the bank of Monte Carlo?
For a bonus 100 points. Who said 'be a devil John and lend me a green'
Joseph Jagger !!!! I am sure that it is the correct answer, he is said to be a relative of Mick from Rolling Stones (my fav. band by the way O0)
So here is my next question :
This roulette betting system involves the player making even-money bets and then doubling up his bet every time he loses.
Which betting strategy is it ???

Question:
Famous player who gathered a crew of 12, for alternating on all the 6 even chances with a reversed progression...
Name of the man + name of the progression? :)

Name of the man + name of the progression? :)
Norman Leigh + Labouchere (reversed). :)
Next question: all bets on the American wheel payout -5.26% apart from one combination of numbers. What are they?
I know the name of progression - it is reverse Labouchere, but I do not know the name of the man
May I search Google ??
would that be the 0, 00, 1, 2, 3. The house edge for that particular bet is roughly 7.9%.
A 5 number bet maybe ???? this is the worst one I've made so far :-[

Correct!
Here is a difficult one.
What year and by whom was the zero introduced to the roulette wheel?
Haha not so difficult !!! >:D
in 1842 by Louis Blanc !
My Question is :
if you sum up all numbers on a American Roulette Layout, what number will you get ?
well done playborne
Many a wealthy aristocrat lost their fortune to the Blanc brothers!
That's true, it's even said that they sold their souls to devil to get to know all the secrets of Roulette >:D ;D ;D
So my next question is :
if you sum up all numbers on a American Roulette Layout, what number will you get ?
see the attachment that may help you ;)

This is goofy. What if you added up the numbers from a single zero wheel (I'm sorry, layout), what number will you get?
Ken
It's 666. Is that correct? If so, who invented the phrase "Reading Randomness?"

I intended to make a question a bit difficult :D:D:D:D LOL :D

I make it 791.
It is 666 , Gizmotron was the first to give the correct answer, so his question was
who invented the phrase "Reading Randomness?"
I think he is the author, but not sure. waiting for Gizmotron to confirm that we are correct
Quote from: Playborne on Jun 22, 02:57 AM 2011
It is 666 , Gizmotron was the first to give the correct answer, so his question was
666 is the sum of the numbers on the
wheel, not the layout. ;)
791 is the sum of the numbers on the layout of the graphic you posted, but it might not be the same on every layout.
I think you included the numbers outside - 1- 12; 1- 18; 2 - 12; 3- 12; 19- 38 as well. I didn't assume that anybody would do that but I confess you are right ::) so waiting for your question :smile:
What is the longest recorded winning sequence of an even chance?
wow a really difficult one... I don't know the answer. Maybe anyone else knows ??
I am probably wrong but my gut tells me 39. I think I read that somewhere and then again it could be 42! :xd:
I will stick with the 39. (fingers crossed)
waiting for Bayes to confirm that, as I have no idea, we can not move forwards without him ;)
(have fingers crossed for you ;) :D LOL )
My guess would be 42.
The info I have is that it was a 36 spin streak of red, recorded at a casino in Bristol, UK. Maybe records have been broken since then, I don't know. Anyway I'll pass the baton to Luke as he was closer. :)
The 'ritz gang' took the London Casino for a cool £1.2 million.
Which wheel manufacturer now supplies their equipment for roulette?
p.s. when you find out the answer, check out their website, it is pretty cool.
Is it Martin Williams Casino Equipment ??? I know that they produce most successful roulette wheels, but I'm not sure whether they are the suppliers of London Casino or not ???
Hello playborne,
Well you learn something new every day, I have never heard of the Martin Williams wheels before.
The answer to my question is 'Abbiati'. They are from Torino in Italy.
Over to you for the next question.
LoL I'm so far from the correct answer ;D But anyway, the question was very general and it's ok, glad that you learned something new, me 2, have never heard of Abbiati before ;)
So my next question is a bit far from roulette, but still ;):
One of the most popular movies with a Las Vegas background, directed in 1960’s. The original ‘Rat Pack†-including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis- is planning to rob five of the top casinos in Vegas in just one night. Which movie is it ?
[attachimg#1]
You've got it !
Now your asking a question
And we're Listening ! LOL :P
It's your turn to ask a question :) ???
The first form of roulette was devised in "WHICH" century- France (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/France).
Blaise Pascal (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaise_Pascal) introduced a primitive form of roulette in the previous century in his search for a " (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion_machine)WHAT SORT OF (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion_machine)"- machine (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion_machine)
in search of "perpetum mobile" , but I don't really understand your question... he wanted to invent a machine that would never stop moving, and a primitive form of roulette wheel was built .. What is the question ? :P
I think U said/mentioned earlier- its Ur eyes that need seeing to!! lol
Here's the question again:-
The first form of roulette was devised in "WHICH" century
LOL I need to get glasses :D:D:D:D:D
17th century as I guess :P
Non.
if Blaise Pascal (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaise_Pascal) introduced a primitive form of roulette in the previous [/color]century in his search for a " (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion_machine)WHAT SORT OF (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion_machine)"- machine (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpetual_motion_machine)
than it may be 18th ?
Indeed It was the 18th century.
The floor is Ur's Sir..................
8) Back with my glasses .
Ok, my question is :
Do all roulette wheels spin in the same direction?
Depends if U are in the Southern Hemisphere or the Northern Hemisphere of Earth?
And All wheels SHOULD be spun BOTH ways!! (alternating)
I mean do all of the roulette wheels are spun in the same direction all over the world ?
The answer is simply YES or NO ;)
hello Chris,
If you ever get a chance to visit the Gala in Birmingham, you will see the croupiers only spin the ball in one direction depending on the layout of the table. When I first saw them do it, I just thought the croupier had made a mistake but this is standard.
I am not 100% sure why they do it. I did have one whacky theory.
A croupier using their right hand to throw in an anti-clockwise direction may not be able to control the spin as much as they would like. The same would apply to a croupier using their left hand to throw in a clockwise direction.
There has to be some reason why and no doubt it involves keeping things tight!
Maybe a few others have an opinion on this as well.
Hi flukey luke ! You're absolutely right when you're not 100% sure why they do it and you did have one whacky theory ;)
So it's your turn to ask a question now !!!
ok, on to the next question.
A lot of people think that 17 is a popular roulette number in the movies. James Bond played it once I think in 'her majesty's secret service', but..... there is an even more popular number that was played in several movies such as 'Casablanca', 'sting' and 'lost in america'.
What is the number?
Is that 7 ? ???
I do not remember exactly, but as 7 is considered to be a lucky number, I suppose it is it!
Hello Playborne,
Unfortunately it's not number 7.
You can have another 37 tries if you like, lol.
It's a black number.
Any more takers?
LOL good point mate, I'll chose another number from the rest 37 left :D:D Ok than, waiting for someone else to give the answer...
10 Black
Unfortunately not Chris!
Here is the final clue.
It's in the second dozen, 1st column and is an even number.
(it's also my age cut in half which makes me feel old, lol)
So whoever answers correctly gets to ask the next question.
cheers
13
I thought U were 52, and I divided by 4!..... Sorry John!!!
So it must be 2 Ducks then?
ok, it can be any number you like. Does that make me only 26? :)
is it 20 ??? (36 trials left) LOL
hey flukey luke where are you ?? ???
Maybe its 22
If flukey luke will not appear in a couple of days, let's continue without him ;)
Ok, as promised, Luke did not appear and I'll be asking a new question, as a thread starter.

Too easy Campese!

I mean not the number, but the cell. All the numbers are written in white by the way :)
Hmm we all claim here to be Roulette Gurus, but nobody appears to know what color is Zero on a wheel ??? I can hardly believe it....
Come on guys, voice up !
