Title: probability question
Post by: downthehatch on Jul 17, 09:44 AM 2011
Hi
back at school many years ago i only got C.s.e grade 3 maths (not very good!) so i was hoping
someone would answer this one:
i know its 50/50 that say Red will appear, but what is the probablity of Red appearing and then black appearing at least twice about 25 times on the trot? or for that matter any of the even money bets appearing followed by its opposite at least twice

i.e is there a probability figure for a sequence

RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB RBB

or is it simply still 50/50?

Cheers Dth

Hi
I can amswer that all results are done in probability . What must be done is look at what the past results were then you can use the probability factor. The math is past most people heads but it can be done.

Until the spin has taken place, the odds are 50/50.  However, if you were to bet on that specific series of RBB RBB 25 times in a row, it would be calculated as (1/2)^75, or 1/37,778,931,862,957,161,709,568 (37.8 Septillion).  Not going to happen.

All Probability can be done and will happen. Also anything can happen and it will. Check on Albert  Einstein theroies.

You are right in a small way . But the truth is, it WILL happen someday.

The mathematical probability is still 50/50, but considering the past results and catching a trend may somehow help you guess on what to bet next.

many thanks for replies, thats one big number!
i asked as i bought a system lately and if i have got it right that sequence is what i am
betting against

1 bet a second, every second of every day of every year is 31,536,000 spins per year.  At that rate, you would have to have your bot running for 1,197,962,070,743,187 years (1.2 quadrillion years) to see the streak that we are talking about.  Is it possible? Absolutely!  To discuss it as "it WILL happen someday" is pointless in a serious discussion of possibility/probability.

wow another incredible number, i wonder if the universe will exist as long?

The probability can happen any time It does not have to take long to happen. It could happen the first time around.

What if the probability of something like picking one black ball out of say ten red balls out of a bottle. It could and will happen the first time.

Why to I have to wait so long to have my post put up. I can't get back to answer in time.
