I've been looking at a simple double dozen system but am not happy with the progressions I've tried and would appreciate any suggestions. Basically it consists of betting on a change after every dozen repeating once or twice. Once I tested betting against a dozen going four times in a row with nearly 3000 spins ( DB ) and got a possitive result flat betting. I'm looking at a variation on that which seems very consistent: most of the time a doze will only repeat once or twice. But the progressions I've tried shoot up too much on LLL.  I don't mind slow recovery, but don't like progressions shooting up fast, as in 1-3-9-27-81. Is there another way?

You could try +2 on a loss & -1 on a win & see if that helps. If you think you've got a pretty balanced bet selection that might work out.
Maybe give it a 100u stop-loss & aim for +1.

 This is one of the better progressions for double dozen betting, thanks to GLC and others.


Double Dozen Progression


Progression Level
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10


Bet level 1 ($1.00) on each Dozen for 5 Spins


If at the end each 5 spins we have a positive balance then spin another 5 times at level 1 ($1.00).


For example, if we won all 5 times we would have a positive balance of $5, if we won 4 times we would have a positive balance of $2 therefore we would spin another 5 times at level 1 ($1.00).


If at end of 5 spins we have a negative balance then increase bets to next progression level 2 ($2.00) for next 5 spins.

For example, if we won 3 times out of 5, we would have a negative balance of -$1.


Bet level 2 ($2.00) on each Dozen for 5 spins.


If during these 5 spins we have eliminated the negative balance of -$1 then revert back to next lower level, ie level 1.
If we still have a negative balance at the end of level 2, then go to level 3.


For example, we have a -$1 loss from level 1.


The first spin at level 2 ($2.00) on each dozen is won, we win $2.00 which when added to the -$1 loss from the previous level a +$1 which has eliminated the negative balance and we now revert back 1 level.

That sounds like a good one. I was thinking: maybe could be used with JL's SLIDE/REVERSE SLIDE for added safety factor??

 Yes, Atlantis . . . I had the same thoughts about applying this progression to other double dozen/column systems, Reverse Slide/Code 4 etc.
I am currently debugging a bot with this 5 spin progression and if it continues to show promise I will most surely add it to a previous bot that is almost identical to the Reverse Slide.
My paper and pen results of this 5 spin progression has not lost a session, but have only tested about 200 sessions.  I need the speed of the RNG mode in the bot to really crunch some sessions and show me where the devil is hiding.
It will be a couple weeks before I complete the testing etc.

Thanks Nick, it looks very solid. Just a question: if you on a higher level, eg 3, and have a positive balance for that level, but not enough to recover all lossess and reach a new maximum, do you stay at that level or go down? For example, say you get to level 3 with -9, then get WLWWW, +3 balance for the level, but still -6 overall, do you stay on level 3?

That's a good question.  I have done it both ways.  It depends on how my session is going.  If it has been a grind and I do not feel like pushing it, I will drop down a level.

Sometimes, I stay at the same level and sometimes I go up.

If I had to choose one method, I would say that if you have a positive balance at the end of 5 spins, then go down one level.  If that positive balance is a new high bankroll, then for sure drop all the way down to level 1.

Remember, all progressions will fail as some point so if you are up a few units, take the money and run and you will always go home a winner.

the only progression that makes sense to me starts with regression on a win. other than that progression mostly won't help u  win this game. if flatbet fails so progression will, with much more devastating results (if it is long)

hi Iggiv

but if a flatbet is good enough to almost see you win, without too much variance, couldn't a mild progression help you over the line?

I have to disagree here iggiv. Supposing you discover a strategy which always wins within a given number of spins, but not if you're flat betting, in that case, the right progression could make a profit, yes?

Bayes, u know probability theory better than me. Why would anything hit only after certain number of spins? if it really  hits for some reason it will hit most likely after very limited number of spins, sometimes after 0 spins. but if it still hits after N spins, u just start betting after N spins, why would u waste your bankroll for progression then?

Thanks for the answer. This is one helpful forum, I have to say. Another problem I came up with is the scenario where I get 2W + 3L, 3 times in a row. So I am only lossing one unit at a time but the balance goes down to -3. I decided to leave it at level one, since nothing balanced is likely to stay balanced long in random games:  worked out ok.

Agreed, no point in starting the progression from spin 1. I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that by making repeated attacks on an event using  limited progressions (I don't mean one long and deep progression), you can make a profit on that event even though you wouldn't have if you were flat betting.

it may help u if u r inpatient. on a short run. on a long run results will be just the same. Yeah, short progressions will not harm too much.
