Title: silly me
Post by: maestro on Oct 24, 06:41 PM 2011
there is one thing being stuck in my brain{it does not happen often) ,so question is ,if roulette cannot be beaten which is obvious by now and we all say that RNG is not roulette so one of the statements has to be true:1 roulette is beatable and rng is not roulette
2 you cannot beat roulette but RNG can be beaten because rng is not roulette :ooh:

well....

i may get some negative comments for that but.....

if RNG is not CONTROLLED by some sort of software profit limitation (cheated) then RNG is more random than live wheel.

Because there is no human factor involved (like. speed of ball, speed of wheel, direction of spin etc)....
and because of this "human factor" we can sometimes notice so called "dealer signature" that can be exploited.....

i mean srlsy... didint u ever noticed that some of the dealers are giving lots of repeaters and some other of them give u none? (even i have noticed playing not to often)

So.... if RNG is fair enough (every RNG have some coded borders) then i guess RNG is harder to beat... thats why i like to test systems on random.org numbers which are the most random numbers u can get in my developer mind.

and ofc roulette can be beaten.... but not by one system/method.... but by combining multiple people knowledge into one big tool.

In my OPINION, it comes down to the DEFINITION of 'beatable'.

Person 'A' might not have the same idea/goal/view/definition of beatable, as person 'B'.

I'll have to go with (1) Roulette is beatable and RNG is not Roulette

I think there is a Grail to Roulette, however with the -2.7% advantage the house has over bettors even the most efficient/profitable system has a limit on it's effectiveness overall imo.  (That's why there is a need for new systems to compensate for when the best systems stop being as profitable.)

I agree with Ophis - good post.

@ ken, my definition of beatable is "the potential to extract consistent profits". On that definition, roulette is beatable.

Ok, here's my take on this whole debacle.......

I really see little to be gained, by the absolute 'puritan' need for people to keep on saying RNG is not Roulette.

It has all the rules of Roulette (the French invented game of Roulette I mean)
It has all the same payouts as Roulette.
U make similar decisions on bet placement, but not always the same as LIVE wheel.
U can wait about the same time for a spin/results, or U can advance the results somewhat.
The enjoyment is almost the same as a live wheel, just without the added LADIES, which is what give Live Roulette the edge............

(Just as many problems with them both tho!.... as least the ball never leaves the wheel in RNG!)

Legal.
No roulette game/session/result was harmed in the making of this statement!.

I thank U.
I love U all.

(P.S. its well documented that there are rouge RNG's out there.
I can envisage that there are rouge Live wheels too.
Just be careful in either case eh!)

Just remember that with hardware TRNG there is no limit for a fair rng. Even for software hight quality rng there is practically no limit, but the results should after A  LONG time start repeating. If you had hardware TRNG and used it to randomly select one of software RNG's to generate x spins (to make more results per second if you had a ten thousands of players in your casino) then the result would be practically random as well I think...

I don't actually know what RNG implementation do they use, but if I runned an internet casino, I would just go with one of those in open source GSL library, ranlux389 and it's variants and merssene twister CANNOT be beated and the quality of random is top notch - it's as nasty as RNG can be, without cheating. It will almost always catch your system in a few spins...
