Title: What is "RNG roulette"?
Post by: VLS on Nov 29, 06:28 AM 2011
Quote from: VLSPersonally, I still like the certainty of betting Roulette (the actual game) and not betting on atmospheric noise, thermal noise, the photoelectric effect, or atomic decay as per in a hardware-based Random Number Generator, standard in casino operations.
Quote from: VLSRoulette, the actual game, is conceptually different from RNG and has physical characteristics which are quite different from those physical characteristics leading to a hardware-based RNG to "spin".

...Did you know this is the "roulette" you actually bet against with RNG:

What an oxymoron the term "RNG Roulette" is!  ???

Can we even talk about "betting on the game of roulette" when dealing with it?  :o

Ah!... You gotta love a session of roulette, the actual game  :)

and that piece of electronic hardware determines the outcome of spins for thousands of players online.

Yet still (at least for me anyways) "Mount Everest wasn't climbable either once".

The challenge remains.

Indeed my friend, labeled as "Roulette"...

P.S. I'm not discussing if an RNG is reactive or not to player's bet (I also wrote this:)

Quote from: VLSIf a casino gives you the hash of the next spins, you know you aren't being cheated, even if it's RNG.

...I'm referring to the RNG roulette game itself and the misunderstanding from the casino industry on what "roulette" really is ;)

QuoteRoulette is a casino (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino) game named after a French (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_language) diminutive (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diminutive) for little wheel.[...] To determine the winning number and color, a croupier (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croupier) spins a wheel in one direction, then spins a ball in the opposite direction around a tilted circular track running around the circumference (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumference) of the wheel. The ball eventually loses momentum (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momentum) and falls on to the wheel and into one of 37 (in French/European roulette) or 38 (in American roulette) colored and numbered pockets on the wheel.[1] (link:://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roulette#cite_note-0)

The roulette wheel is just a hardware RNG.  8)

Absolutely dear Bayes, yet the physical aspect of the hardware itself is QUITE DIFFERENT from those used in the flash-based RNG roulette at online casinos!

..."atomic-decay ballistics" inside the chip to gain an advantage? :D

(Kidding!)

Perhaps online casinos should call it Pettitepuce for ‘little chip’.  :D

And my personnel favorite… petitchat.  ;D

well people are ok with, for starts, their pilots being trainned on a flight simulator....... so i don't see what's the fuss with RNG.......it simulates, its not the same, but the better the program the more realistic the experience

Quotetrainned on a flight simulator

And lets not forget the whole plane was designed by software, all stress points computed etc, infact almost everything we use now is software developed.
