I walked up to the booth and slipped $300 under the plate glass to the lady on the other side.
What race track was this?
This was not a race track. It was Small Claims court.
I am appealing a case to Superior Court with $5000 at stake.
There's a 50/50 chance the Superior Court will rule in my favor.
I wish i could make this kind of be every day of the year.
I am only questioning my sanity because the $300 represents my entire bankroll.
I don't know where my next $100 bankroll is coming from.
Plus, even if i get the "award", i still have to collect.
However, the odds of collecting get better with an "award".
Plus, there's 100% per year interest attached to unpaid balances due.
$5000 is the unpaid balance...due 5 years ago.
Should i win, and need to ask for "liquidated damages" as spelled out by the contract, the pay-out in question could significantly escalate.
Altogether, i've put about $400 into the process. $300 are all the fees needed to appeal.
There are probably better bets to be found in this forum.
But this is one i took recently as a matter of principle, and statute of limitations was running out.
Good bet?
