Title: WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
Post by: TwoCatSam on Jul 01, 06:42 PM 2012
Not making any accusations here, but I will state the facts under oath........

I just switched on the S9 bot and it asked me if I wanted to download the new version.

My computer is now infected with a virus.  Kaspersky is working to eradicate it.

This is not a joke!

Hi sam.

To be fair it might not be a virus.

Sometimes these antivirus programs will quarantine and remove any program that acts strangely.

My antivirus has forbid me to download many roulette based programs, one I even had made myself and uploaded it to the forum. I later downloaded it back onto my computer after a crash and the antivirus program stopped the download and removed the program because it was "acting suspiciously".

Once you resolve the problem try turning off your anti virus temporarily while you download/install the program.

If you trust it that is.

I agree, I have updated the software on two diffrent computers, and no virus reported by my anti virus program.

Thanks

did it recognized s9 as virus? ...or some other stuff?

if s9 it may be because it is compressed with:
link:://:.aspack.com/ (link:://:.aspack.com/)

Quote
ASPack is an advanced Win32 executable file compressor, capable of reducing the file size of 32-bit Windows programs by as much as 70%. (ASPack's compression ratio improves upon the industry-standard zip file format by as much as 10-20%.) ASPack makes Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/VISTA/7 programs and libraries smaller, and decrease load times across networks, and download times from the internet; it also protects programs against reverse engineering by non-professional hackers. Programs compressed with ASPack are self-contained and run exactly as before, with no runtime performance penalties.

This may be considered a suspicious file by some antiviruses since its program within program.
...i can provide u with uncompressed version if your AV gets crazy.

or it could be because bot is restarting itself when updating (program starting program) this also may be considered as suspicious action.

if some other files... then dunno cuz s9 don't use any other files.

besides...
i have run scans online:

compressed EXE with ASPACK:
link:://:.metascan-online.com/results/lmvsyh303zgn049aas3qmmcfylh1wb6l (link:://:.metascan-online.com/results/lmvsyh303zgn049aas3qmmcfylh1wb6l)

uncompressed EXE:

...guess i need to stop compressing them so people will be more happy.

I plainly said I was not making any accusations..............

Kaspersky  say I have a virus or something.

I can barely type this note...

i have never in my live used kaspersky but for me what it does say is:
that you have disabled module that should detect malware......
not that you have a virus

you should update it or smth...

Ophis

This is what I've done:

Deleted S9

Ran Kaspersky twice.....

Re-started the computer

Turned off Kaspersky

Installed S9 and downloaded 1.0.5

Here's what I get.

Should I try it on my other computer.
