I have been playing this at the casino. It's given me a nice return for the last 3 weeks. I know people will have a negative opinion. For those who want to try it go ahead. I had initially planned for a bankroll of 600units. However, I have only physically put into the machine an amount equivalent to 140units. The machine is a double zero and 0.25 min unit with a min bet of $2.00.
We are betting 15 numbers. 7 to the right and 7 to the left of the last number and the last number after we get the trigger.
What is the trigger:
Follow the ball. If the ball is away by 8 or more numbers. that's your count of spins missed.
Total number of spins to miss is 2 or 3 depending on your comfort level.
I have stuck to 2. The progression I have used is 1,1,2,3,6,10,17. However, I haven't gone past 3 units on any session.

The is a tracker somewhere in here (or there! (link:://betselection.cc/index.php)),
that could easily be adapted to track the "8 Ball", and the misses, and then suggest the next bet.
Now we need to test on ALL forms of the beautiful game!

One thing you did not mention, is when you said:- "When the ball is away by 8 or more numbers....."
that this assumes you have chosen a target number in the first place, or is that the first number you have in the game?

It's 8 number's left or right from the last number.
Double Zero wheel.
20 Last number-> Next number shouldn't be in between 0 - 3. If that happens count is 1. Next number was 19. Count = 1.
19 -> Next number shouldn't be in between 00 - 4. Next number 28. Now we have a count of 2. Betting begins.
