Title: Iceman1313's money management!
Post by: GLC on Sep 03, 08:06 PM 2014
No matter what everyone thinks about Iceman's dimension system, his money management method is worth another look.

The basic method is the following:

First, it's a flat bet only method.
Play until you are +4 or -8.

1)  If you are -4, take the loss if you get back to -2.
2)  If you are -5, take the loss if you get back to -3.
3)  If you are -6, take the loss if you get back to -4.
4)  If you are -7, take the loss if you get back to -4.
5)  If you are -8, take the loss.

Some comments on this money management method:
It's a flat bet, so very safe overall compared to a progression.

Exceptions 1, 2, 3 & 4 are good safety measures to mitigate losses.

His repeatedly stated that you will lose at times with this system, but to be patient because overall you will win more than you lose.  This is what will be said about the Holy Grail if we ever find it.  Even if we don't, it sets us in the proper mindset for seeing this game correctly.  No matter what system you're playing, you must, must, must not get impatient because you have some losing sessions.  It's the final result that counts.

I think a tweak to his money management that will make it a little less aggressive, but still a playable method is as follows:

1)  Never lose more than 8 units from you highest point.
2)  Once you get +4 units above your lowest  draw down, stop whether you're plus or minus.

Examples:
If you get to -2 then recover back to +2, stop.    You have won 4 units from -2.  Also stop if you  get all the way to -8.
If you get to +3, stop if you get to -1 or +4.
If you get to -6 and the recover back to -2, stop
If you get to +1, stop if you get to -3 or are lucky enough to get to +4.

So, to win +4 from your lowest draw down above -8, or to lose -8 from your highest point other than +4 are our parameters.
