Title: Unmoderated section
Post by: Turner on Oct 07, 01:38 PM 2016
We have lost a lot of good people stop posting here.

I dont know why but I guess its down to the continuous bickering and mud slinging.

GF is discusting and anything goes. I dont want this place to go that way.

I get a lot of stick trying to stop this, which I can cope with but its really down to a handful of people.

Can I please suggest to the people who want to finish this forum off to use the Unmoderated section

There you can be as childish and pathetic as you want with no moderation.

Leave peoples posts alone and give them some respect that they may actually want to talk about roulette without constant derailing

It's really simple.  Members should just report shit. Use the report post feature and let mods deal with it. There's a lot of complaining about shit without actual reporting of posts.

If members think mods didn't do the right thing, then contact me.

I say it over and over, but very few members actual do this.

Yes you are right.

However, I know I am no saint either. I am guilty of it too.

However, did we not have this poll?

I would actually ask the mods, to use their judgment and delete posts about bickering in a productive thread.

No one can just come in and say, It won't work or say look at math or odds, math is just a guide line for people to see what's out there.
Odds are always against you any which way you look at.

If a post is against rules, once a member reports it, mods will deal with it. Really its that simple. Try it.

If there's a pattern of behavior, we will do something more than just remove posts.

Remember the forums moderation is member responsibility too. Not just the mods. We are the ones who do the clicking

I guess, there is no real solution to these.

The only solution, would be like you have said before, asking people to get along.

I already gave the solution. The problem is that people aren't doing what is asked. They expect someone else to find a solution but not take responsibility themselves, as happens in society.

Steve,

I don't want to start a fight. However, I have to say this so you know where I am coming from.

I think, you have noticed, I haven't been posting much apart from lately getting into stupidity of calling someone a crying wolf.

I have explained this as to why I have called him that.  Now lets leave that aside for a moment. Like I said I am no saint.

What, I don't understand, and I would like to know is, people have openly come out and said, they hate it here on other forums.

However, we do let them post here and they start to stir things up.

Why do we let them have their way? They don't like it ask them to stay away.

It's not about giving them their way. It's about carefully balancing the contributions of the member for member benefit vs the problems members cause.

If i just did what most people wanted, i would just ban unpopular people that actually help, despite causing other problems. It's not agidden agenda. I actually want people to learn.  I don't want to let rbrbrb nonsense reign supreme. Someone has to give accurate information.  Caleb could be one of those people, but he has a problem side that degrades his value to members. If i wanted just a popular forum, worth more traffic, i would have banned caleb again. Anybody that says i keep him here for my agenda has no idea. He does more harm than good if traffic was important to me.  I havent banned him this time because i want people to learn, for their benefit. But its now apparent that most people aren't here to earn a living from roulette.

Rg u keep saying i do all this for money. Money does not motivate me like it does other people. Don't assume.

I'll find a solution for all, just work with me and communicate.  As per my other thread, anyone can pm me

I want to get a better understanding of how people feel. Then ill be better informed.

Steve, I think you have misunderstood my point.

I am not asking you to ban anyone, however the mods and yourself, can warn and if it still goes out of hand, put them on moderation forever, that includes me too.

Steve,

Have you actually, seen me call Caleb, General any names?  No, why, I know his heart is in the right place, but he comes out as what we think that he is an A__.

Yes, I have asked him a question, which he has always ignored, however I can't remember calling him names.

For now I'm mostly asking who here thinks banning is justified. I personally don't think at all. Just the occasional moderation. But I'm just asking for feedback via pm. It's all confidential.

Or....back on topic....people can argue in the unmoderated section. Otherwise...whats it actually there for.?
Discussing flower arranging or soft furnishings without the worry of it being moderated?

The problem with an unmoderated section is it just perpetuates more bad behavior.  Like arguing on another forum and bringing it here. We will see how irmt turn out.

Ive always found the best way to kill negativity is to driwn it with positivity
