Title: Hello! I've been thinking...
Post by: Tommymarks on Sep 11, 11:42 AM 2018
Hello. Happy to be part of this group!
I've been thinking: is it the house edge we're against? Is that what causes progressions to bust? I'm not sure. If it was then we all should be down 5% or so of the totally money ever bet. And I'd suspect most systems are down much more than that. For example: it is common for a progression to "bust" repeatedly over time & be down 20% or more. So, by using the progression we're fighting atleast 15% worse odds!

Seems to me that it is our too risky money management that is the real issue.

Can we reverse this? I know there are ideas of finding a very risky progression & just playing the opposite. At least this would start to try to solve what really causes a progression to bust...

This is only true if you bet flat. As soon as you use a progression the losses climb exponential

The longer you play, the more the house edge consumes your bankroll, until you reach the point of no return, the point at which you will never break even again, even with a run of really good luck.  Up as you lose progressions merely borrow form the future to pay for the present, enabling the gambler to "chase" their losses.  BAD IDEA.

Well, that’s true if you have a losing system, a professional player with decent system, the longer he plays, the more profits he will make.
