There is a push to stop US online casino betting.
I went here to Online Casino City and noticed the legal note in red.

Here you can check and see if your state allows online gaming.
*As for me Texas is now officially closed to online gambling >:(
Why is this Proof, is it a religious thing?
The idea spreading with Trump being elected who is supported by fundemental Christians. Or is it someone else?
I often feel religion is used as an excuse for stuff, even if one believes, that's a personal thing, and life's trivia should not get in the way of true faith.
For example Jesus turned water into wine, but some Christians argue against alcohol on religious grounds. Maybe gambling likewise.
Not religious myself, but just confused at the way some people think. It would seem to obscure the main purpose of faith to me.
Why is this Proof, is it a religious thing?
It is Sheldon Adelson, the casino magnate.
He lobbied the US Republicans to shut down
online casinos for US residents. He got his wish.
For example Jesus turned water into wine, but some Christians
argue against alcohol on religious grounds. Maybe gambling likewise.
The metaphor you mentioned is more about how much better life is for someone who decides
to love their neighbor (legally you don't have to), but it is becoming behavior and enhances the community.
As for the gambling aspect there is this quote:
Proverbs 24:6: With good advice make war
and with lots of good advice you will win.
Einstein asked the question does God play dice?
Hawking stated that not only is God most definitely a gambler he is also an avid gambler.
This God is not the rediculious man made God that people like Proofreader go on about this is the God of Mathematics.
Study Heisenberg's uncertainty principle for more information.
Why does he want to shut down online casinos for US residents. On what grounds?
Maybe he will get more business for his B&M casinos, buy that doesn't seem logical grounds, and most B&M operators would have an online section too.
Its purely to keep gambling revenue for local casinos.

In 2008 Prez George W Bush ratified the
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2008 which regulated online gambling for US residents (basically it left it to the states to decide)
Now recently each US State has been formally banning online casino
gambling. (I can still gamble online-
but cashing out would be illegal)
(Who would risk cashing my online gambling winnings checks now?)
You're not allowed to do what you want, with your own money.
If you do, they might take your money from you.
The home of the "free". Other nations are no better. All part of the same system.
