Title: Print function for member's posts
Post by: Drazen on Feb 26, 03:47 PM 2020
Hi Steve

Is it possible to add the "Print" function for the individual member's posts?

Similar like for the threads where you can print all posts in the thread, but in this case, it would be all posts of the desired member?

Hope that makes sense

Cheers

How will you pay for it?

The members posts page is the same kind of layout so its easily printable anyway

But why waste the paper?

Hi Steve

Hm.. it might be the same layout but I don't see that option?  The point is it would be the easiest way to gather all members posts in one file in a quick and easy way.

I wouldn't necessarily print it on the paper, but once I have that option I can save it as PDF for example.

I think some other members might find this useful too? Should I make a pool?

Cheers

Make your browser narrower so the sidebar menu doent appear, and see link:s://:.rouletteforum.cc/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=1153

Then print the page as pdf and the result is similar to the print page function.

i see what you mean, but in this example you would have to separately save down the pages as pdf 64 times, then merge the files. Not that big of a deal, but Drazen was looking for an option to download all posts in a single file with one click.

Off topic, but related to forum function. The "Search in topic subjects only" option has never worked on this forum.

The search function with topics isn't compatible with the rating system.

There's no option to download all a user's posts in one click. Drazen, why do you need to download it?

The software is designed to do it in parts is because such searches are demanding for the server.

Well to save it for the future :)

The forum can come and go, posts can be deleted or whatever...

Thanks Normand!

I am aware of that, but unfortunately, that can save only one forum page per click.

Let's say I want to save all your posts in one file. When I click on your posts it is showing me 43 forum pages. So I would have to do what you showed 43 times. A bit tedious, don't you think? So all I asked if there is a way how to save them all at once as we can do for any thread.

You have any solution for that? :)

Cheers

Not really, sorry.  :(

I don't think you can do that. I tried it years ago, searched on SMP forums for solutions, tried to come up with all kind of "hacks" I could think of, but to no avail.
But even if it's 50 pages, it shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes to save them one by one. In Firefox hitting F9 even removes all the forum designs, header, etc. so you only see the posts.

I'm sure this forum won't exists forever, so I too have saved down a number of threads. But luckily there is waybackmachine that archives the entire forum. That's why it's still possible to read some old forums such as rouletteforum.net or gamblersglen.
I have seen someone mentioning VIP lounge or something like that, which was allegedly one of the most popular forums before 2010, but I've never found out what the address for the website was.
