As for me Jesus saved me. After he saved me we had a daughter. Our last of three daughters, but... she was born deaf.
My wife picked up on it early on after she was born. We had an 80# Black Labrador that would bark, but she remained silent and unstirred by the dog's noise. The doorbell would ring and she would make no movements. My wife would vaccum the carpet, but she remained unmoved while she slept on the floor.
She was extremely peaceful. My wife thought she was too peaceful. At our daughter's first or second checkup the doctor checked her hearing checked because she may be deaf. This confirmed my wife's biggest fear, but she never told me she suspected our daughter was born deaf.
So we tried our own tests at home. I held our beautiful sleeping baby in my arms while my wife literally banged pots and pans only inches from behind her head.
Just as with the dog barking she remained peaceful and unstirred by the loud clanging of metal. With this confirmation my wife started to cry, and yet for some strange reason I felt real and true joy, which can only come from the Lord.
About a week later we were at a Bible study with maybe 30 other people. At the end of the study the pastor asked us to sit in two chairs while the group gathered around us to lay hands on us and pray for our daughter.
I had told our pastor what we found out and he said we would pray over our daughter.
The next day someone comes to the door and rings the doorbell. Our Black Lab runs to the door and barks.
My wife looks over at our daughter and she is whincing from the piercing noise.
The Lord answered our prayers! Our daughter was healed by God of her deafness.
We just married her off last week to a wonderful man. She is gorgeous, smart and she has her own very succesful business now.
Proof? That is MY proof! God is real and God loves everyone He created, which is all of us. He sent His only Son to die for our sins so we would not have to.
"But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." (Romans 5:8
