I was really impressed by 'PATTERN BREAKER' and 'PATTERN 4' by Johnlegend - at least by his unorthodox approach to utilize randomness to beat the roulette. But both systems are rather complex - way too complex considering that we are dealing with even chances. Complex to the degree that it's not clear if we win because the system is winning or it's just randomness playing a game with us, which may leave us broke one day.
Does it have to be that complicated? What do we know about even chances (e.g. red/black) patterns for sure? What we do know is that any pattern is either based on repeat of spin before last (streaks of red or black or alternating) or it's NOT based on repeat of spin before last (series of twos which mess up progressions based on the first pattern). Most of time both patterns are clearly identifiable and we do know why: roulette is a mechanical device, which is not perfect; and it is operated by humans who are even less perfect, what results in dealer's signature.
So here is a simple system to exploit all these known facts: we'll wait until we have two or more consecutive spins which do NOT repeat spins before last (it won't be a long wait), then we'll wait until two consecutive spins which DO repeat spins before last (this way we ensure the previous pattern ended), and then we start betting 1-2-4 until we win just once. I have not extensively tested this system, but don't see any reason why it can't be profitable.
