Title: 3 Card Poker
Post by: Drogan on Nov 07, 11:26 PM 2011
Does anyone know of any specific strategy or money management for this game? Specific ways to bet the three bets? Do you make more or less with pair plus? What if you only bet pair plus and didn't bet the ante? Can you even do that?

So far it seems like playing a slot machine with cards. But there has got to be an MM strategy that we can use to win this one. So far researching the net all I have got is Fold if you don't have Q/6/4 or higher. Really? That's it? There has got to be more to it than that.

I am only drawn to it because the payouts are ENORMOUS!

Any books, pdfs, or videos would be appreciated. And if anyone plays this game, please let me know of your experience.

Thanks.

Are U in the right sort of Forum my friend?

Maybe a 'POKER FORUM' would serve U better!

I have nothing for U my friend.

[reveal=?] have a word with the member who wear his pants on the outside of his tights! On the QT of course, he's a Poker player... but don't let on I told U so, or else the word will spread like butter off a hot knife, and we wouldn't want that now would we![/reveal]

I play three card.  With RNG it's more the time of day (*and starting exactly at the same time, each time) than the hand you're dealt in my opinion.
You can also play every hand to see how often the dealer has a lesser hand, then start your progression right below the average.  Breadwinner--up a chip on a loss, less two on a win.
(Hope this helps)

Thanks for the replies.

And yes Chrisbis I am in the right forum. Roulette is definitely my game. Just looking to branch out a bit.

Proofreaders thanks for the tip about the time of day. Do know any online casinos that have live dealers?

And I am not sure what you are saying about playing every hand....could you explain please?

I am in Mississippi for the next couple of weeks, but the closest roulette wheel is an hour and half from the hotel I am staying in. Tried to go on the weekend but it was so crowded at the ONE wheel that they had there was about 5 to 6 minutes in between spins. Not one single person at the table had any strategy whatsoever. They just took all of their chips and spread them all around the table. Got so frustrating waiting for the dealer to spin. After about an hour and 10 minutes of that I just took the 5 dollars that I won and left.

There is a casino that does Blackjack, Three Card, and sometimes Craps on the river by the hotel. I think Three Card is the most winnable of those games. But was trying to find some expert advice before I play.

One thing I did find out.....never play the Pair Plus bet....that is the one that takes all of your money.  ;)

Oh and one more thing......

Progression won't work. This table has a min bet of $5 and a max bet of $15. 3 chip spread.

Ridiculous!!! >:(

"Do know any online casinos that have live dealers?"--Drogan

Yes, but not for Three Card Poker unfortunately.

"And I am not sure what you are saying about playing every hand....could you explain please?"--Drogan

You can either fold and lose the ante or play the hand hoping for the better hand (which risks more money).  Playing RNG it looks like the dealer wins every third hand *on average*, so a strategy could be folding on the third hand (for example).

"Progression won't work. This table has a min bet of $5 and a max bet of $15. 3 chip spread."--Drogan

You could start at $5 and progress up $1 per loss/less $1 on a win (just a thought).

Proof,

Up one on a loss, down one on a win seems to be working pretty well. Won 70 units on RNG at SmartLive Casino. Just practicing. Would never play real money on anything RNG.

It seems pretty safe so far.

I posed the question in the MM Forum. We shall see what Bayes, George and all the progression gurus come up with.
