Title: question for glc
Post by: deepred on Jul 13, 12:20 PM 2012
George, seeing you are the progression king what would be the best one for a 4-1 bet? Would like it to be as mild as possible.                   Thks   GJ

GJ,  I would recommend Lanky's 6 point divisor.  It can be adapted to any payout ratio on the table.  I presume you are betting on numbers.  Either individually or 3 streets.  Lanky's 6 point divisor can be tweaked to be Lanky's 10 point divisor or 15 point divisore or 20 point divisor.  You can set how rapidly or slowly you want to win your target.

Another slow progression is Gr8players progression.  With this progression you bet a pre-determined number of times and then evaluate.  For 1:1 bets he suggests 7 bets and then adjust unit size.  If you are close to even, just stay at 1 unit.  If you are in the hole a few chips then increase your bet to 2 units for the next 7 bets.  Any time you reach a new high bank amount, reset back to 1.

You can look at my post on Gr8players progression under the Money Management section.

Thank you both for the replys I will investigate it further. So far my worst losing streak has been 10 spins and if i could find something mild I think this might be playable.           Thanks again  GJ

Accually it is only a 3-1 bet. Was never really good at math. If you bet 9 numbers straight or 3 streets it ends up paying you 3 to 1 odds or you get back 4 dollars for every dollar bet.    GJ

Deep Red, whats your bet selection? if your bet selection cannot win in flat bet, then no progression can make you win (George et al). Without proper bet selection, soon Deep Red will be in Deep Sh#t!

Please enlighten us all to how you have come to this cunclusion.  If  the strike rate is consistantly in the same range and never exceeds a certain piont then a progression can work but I will not pursue this anymore cause it cant be done . Too bad cause I just Bought some high boots to walk through the deep sh#t.      GJ

All bet selections in the long term have the same LW ratio?

using a reference frame of 300 spins (eg) for 200 games , you can measure the strike rate and manipulate your bet selection accordingly.

To achieve advantage on a 1+1-basis you can use this MM,especially in drawndown
situations.....

After a win/followed by several loses,divide your prior state/say 400-/by betting stake/say 8/which
would be 50......now divide your new win/say 150/with 50=3.......which means you decrease your
next bet 8-3=5.....and this staking formula works great.....good luck

May you elaborate on that?

Deepred,
Here's a progression that you may like or you may hate.
It's a let-it-ride for 3 streets.
We begin by betting 1 unit on 3 streets.  If we win we will have 9 units on the table.  We let-it-ride meaning we bet 3 units on each of 3 streets.  If we win the let-it-ride bet, we will have 36-9=27 units on the table.  Take them.
We just let it ride 1 time.
The progression is here:

3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-6-6-6-6-6-9-9-9-12-12-12 etc...
If you lose the above line, you will lose 120 units.

You can carry the bet line out as far as you wish.  Just calculate what you have to bet each time to fully recover any time you win 2 in a row.  The next bet would be 15 units or 5 units on 3 streets.  Multiply 15 X 9 = 135-120=+15 if you win 2 in a row.  You can do a 2nd 15X9=135.  135-135=0.  Now you have to go to 18.  Etc...
