TWO'S COMPANY - easy and straightforward explanation, please

I have been away from forums for quite some time but recently decided to visit to see whats interesting these days and I see a lot of talk of this TWO'S COMPANY system.

I cannot find an explanation of this system, could someone take the time to explain it with simple words(like for a mentally disabled person), so that others could test this as well?
