Which bet is best suited for live roulette?

Dear Victor and fellow forum members,
This is one of the biggest questions of the game called roulette.  Where should we bet and upon how many numbers to get best odds/ chances to win? Is it 1 number or 2 or street or line or dozen or row or even money bets( red/black-even/odd-high/low) and why? Here, I am talking about live roulette and not RNG.  Share your opinion and experiences and your winning secrets here.  Do you believe in progression or not?
What I believe to be the best option is to bet upon 9 numbers.  Selecting 9 numbers in live roulette is not a big issue.  It can be 9 hottest number or from a single sector or something like this.
Progression that I suggest is 1-1-1-2-3-4, I think no one need to go beyond this if selection of 9 numbers are logical and bad luck or losing streak does not follow you.  All of you can see I have used this technique of mine in a recent 100 spin challenge in a sister forum vlsroulette. com and I won more consistant than all other players and never lost a big sum.
I hope there are many many veteran players and experts  here in this forum and can give better suggestions for the benefit of all.  We are looking forward for suggested play styles.
             My regards to all.

My opinions are:

- Straight-up numbers; there's nothing more versatile and able to target as many triggers and FILTERS as them (by the way, haven't really seen FILTERS discussed around, and they are as important as triggers to consistently have a chance -IMHO).

- Ideally, Flat betting only. The true certified winning methods turn tables with the casino and win by getting the mathematical positive edge on roulette, never needing a progression at all to be ahead.

- If player's selection isn't as accurate, I guess progressions are right to "patch" or "amend" the balance. Of course, when talking progressions, the slower the better. This way you allow holding for more time in case of a dispersion of hits, giving time for the concentration of close-together hits to occur and have your balance up again.

Those are my views dear Albalaha.

Regards,
Victor

Dear Victor,
Some of our ideas match, but isn't it very difficult to select the straight up ? Do not forget the unpredictability factor which leads maximum players to play EC. What should an average player do Victor? Guide us .

At first! I used to believe in maximum numerical coverage, but experience taught me with less numbers, there was more room for missing a few spins and yet recovering on a hit without an otherwise elevated exposure of chips.

Now my bet selections are only straight-up based. I have shared some in the forum already.

The best advice I can give you is not to focus on the face value of the numbers, but in the *EVENTS* according to the amount of coverage.

i.e. "an event for 6 numbers", "an event for 9 numbers", etc. regardless of what those numbers are. And of course, not to believe there are special numbers, or numbers following others, or any of the regular myths regarding straight-up betting.

You have to be very scientific in your approach and bet only in the "statistical attack zone" for your events: that fine line where it hits the majority of the cases. i.e. chart the neighbors in the disc and tell me how many times you get to spin #18 without a neighbor... now how many to spin 15... now how many to spin 12 without a neighbor?... make your statistics and make conclusions on the straight-up events. You'll be amazed at the amount of "almost certainties" you may find).

If any, the even chances tend to be less predictable because they are, well, balanced. It is as likely to go one side or the other... when betting the lesser numbers you can identify more clearly the times when it clumps (concentration) and the times when it is sleeping.

Remember the game balances-out continuously, your duty is to match this dance. If you are betting -for instance- a 6-number event, which hasn't come for 30+ spins, when it starts to concentrate hits you may risk some units on it, if no hit for 6 spins, then leave it alone.

You already make a very similar approach I believe.

Wow Victor,
You have given me an insight as to how to pick straight ups. Recently I have written an event based system on the forum which is, I think, one of the finest ways to defeat roulette. Would you please elaborate a little more. I am pretty impressed with your "neighbours" stuff and wish to learn more from you.

I'm pretty sure that the best option to bet on in roulette is a number.  Supposing that the game is perfectly random, and the gambler will never stop, the best way he can play is flat bet one number with the maximal unit possible.  If he ever wins more than 400 or maybe 450 maximal units, I would recommend him to stop playing roulette at all.  If the gambler knows he will never stop, he should find a casino with as high limit on a single number as possible.  If the limit on outer options is much higher than that on inner ones, and there is no better casino, I would not be so sure what is best.  Traveling expenses should be also included in the computation. . .

If the starting bankroll and target bankroll are fixed, then the problem can be represented as Markov decision problem, which can be solved with policy improvement algorithm.  This is nothing difficult after some study, I have implemented that just with description on wikipedia.  Result is not much different from betting whole bankroll on even chance, and if you have En Prison/Le Partage rule, you should just bet all your bankroll on that even chance.  What is good about this solution is that the algorithm can found optimal strategy for given table limits, utilizing all what is possible, even if table limits are disproportional.  In the end best what you can get is "almost coin tossing" for your whole bankroll, but expected value is still negative.
