After four years and the donation of 100 carefully chosen books, Yann Martel, author of the 2002 Man Booker prize-winner Life of Pi, has finally ended his self-appointed role as the literary mentor of Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper

some of the comments:

"If Mr Martel (or Mr Harper) fancy sending the books to me instead...that'd be lovely."

" I wonder which member of Harpers' staff does his reading for him? That person is getting quite a good education."

This is an hysterical post.

How clever is YannMartel. How strange is Harper?

Thanks iggiv,

this all is just funny. Both play their roles. If Harper suddenly started reading all those books  that would be weird. He doesn't even show up that much on TV, does he? Now the writer will become more popular after getting into news. Freaks draw attention. And this is not just a freak, this is a stylish freak.
