Hi all,

I'm new here and I see that there's lots of great discussions around which I will check out in time. I've been playing roulette for around 8 years now, with some gaps in between due to losing streaks and other personal reasons.

I returned to roulette about two months ago with a specific 'system'. Basically my system is this: I divide the wheel (single zero) into two halves, one half covers 43% of the wheel, and the other half covers 57% of the wheel. Let's call them A and B respectively. I will usually wait for the ball to land in A at least two times, before betting on B with some sort of progressive martingale system. The theory is, if it has landed in A (that smaller, 43% of the wheel) twice already, then it is more likely to land in B the next spin. Why? Because if you were to start from the beginning and bet that A would come up two or three times in a row, it would be somewhat unlikely.

Is this the gambler's fallacy? Yes, but hear me out.

So that system was doing me fine for about a month. I kept a record of my wins and losses, and by the end of the month I was up $5500 (and I went to the casino almost every day during the month, so it wasn't like I went once or twice and got lucky). So I thought it was fairly consistent.

The other thing I should mention is that a lot of my wins were determined by self control. Once I felt I had won enough, I would leave. This would 'lock in' my wins for the day.

However, one thing I realised was that I would almost always lose if I played alone at a table. My 'system' only seemed to work when there were others playing on the same table.

In the second month, I found myself with no choice on many occasions but to play alone on a table (either some tables were jam packed, or they were empty). And this is where my losing really started hurting me. Every time I played alone, I would do my system, but it would ALWAYS land in the opposite sector.

So after the ball landing in A two times, I would start betting B, only to see it land in A five more times which would kill my bankroll. Sometimes I would try to ride the streak and then bet on A, only to see it land on B. Whatever, I bet on, it would land in the opposite section.

Sometimes before starting on a wheel, I would check out the history of numbers, and it would look like A-A-B-B-B-A-B-B-A or something. So a good variable and collection right? But AS SOON AS I START betting, it would just go against me, like A-A-A-A-A. I mean, my god, if that happened once or twice, it's coincidence. But in the last month, it has happened to me every time I have gone to the casino!

Now, I watch the ball as it spins and I can't see any interference, the ball seems to fall naturally. But I just can't help but think it's too coincidental that I was winning at first, but now every bet of mine loses.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this  :)

Hello Celebrex welcome to the Forum :)

I've found the sector betting (Visual Ballistics) is very hard to
predict in general.  Nearly impossible with bets before ball release.

That's why Steve H -this forum's owner- sells
computer to help predict the winning half of the wheel.

You also may not want to play alone at the wheel anymore (just to be 'safer'.)
;)

proof beat me to replying.
Would not be hard for pit boss to see your stakes are covering say half the wheel and give the nod and croup start trying to avoid your section.
When in casino in mauritius late into the morning some aussie guys asked if she could land ball where she wanted and sure she could or be very near, so your large section could be missed i'd say. Also like proof said dont play on empty tables

Wow I thought I was the only one who despised empty tables! What are your reasons for avoiding empty tables?

Thanks for the replies, appreciate them!

You're welcome Celebrex :d

The spins are faster on empty tables, so
you are more likely to lose money faster.

I have never encountered  any cheating problems  in any USA casino which I    have patronized. I am not paranoid to blame the croupier if I have lost.

If I am the only player I don`t give a rat`s tail how fast a  croupier is spinning the wheel :  I am leaving the table  if I lose 2 consecutive spins  inside as  well  as   2 dozens  or columns,  or 3  losses in a row   at EC .Ditto  if I have  reached my win goal.

When I leave a table with a   small  loss some  croupiers   said  "You got enough chips left why don1t you win it back"
I give them a tip  and don`t reply..

The stupid looks   at the croupiers faes are priceless.
