Protection of Ideas - Copyright protections

This has not to do a lot with roulette. I guess some uses can be found but I didn't had roulette on my mind on first place.

If you have an idea (let's say about a site, or about an app etc) but you don't have the knowledge to create it yourself, you have to contact and give the idea to a company or person that will make the site/app etc. How are you protected not to get your idea stolen and being used by him or whatever other possible complications.

Is the only way, the legal one? How does the legal one even works? I just go to a lawyer and say again the idea? What if he finds it interesting for himself too? 

Does Non Disclosure Agreement helps on any of these and how is it done?

If anyone knows or can direct me to a better place, I would love to hear what others know/believe or how they can help

PS: I guess even on Roulette this fear applies.. Players can be afraid to give in public their systems or afraid to give them for long run testings/coding, fearing they will lose the monopoly of the HG. At least 99.9% I'm not afraid with that on mechanical systems since it will bust the system instead of giving in public the HG

has to have a time and date stamp and be published.

(you could post your idea to an email and that's a copyright)

For full protections however you'll need a patent on your idea.
(either a lawyer or 'legalzoom' perhaps)

So if I write my idea on my email and send it to myself does the email on the sent or inbox folder counts as a proof for copyright? That's all?
Can't there be fake proof opposed? Time/dates and Photoshop alterations are easily done these days even at very detailed levels

I'll try to contact or ask a lawyer but is that what you mean though? Write and send to self so as to be the earliest date/time as a proof of the initial idea?

copyrights or patents dont really protect anything. They just give you a better legal position if it goes to court. if the entity that infringes your rights and has no money, your options are limited although there can be criminal charges in some cases. You can garnish peoples wages which cripples them for life, unless they declare bankruptcy, which still screws them in other ways. For most cases, it wouldnt be worthwhile to take matters to court. It comes down to this.. if you protect your property correctly, you can take anyone to court in virtually any jurisdiction for a price... but is it worth it? Ive had many businesses involving copyright issues, but in the end it might lose you a bit but what loses you more is wasting resources worrying about it. So in most cases take proper precautions to at least minimize the problem. Treat piracy just like any other overhead expense. I was once scammed for a huge amount. But what lost me more was the time wasted trying to chase the prick down. I made it personal and this did the most damage. Anyway point is business is math and statistics.

If coding software, get someone trustworthy who has something to lose by having bad feedback. An NDA is a deterrent but not a guarantee. Make sure you properly know the coder's identity.

If you have a killer idea and need a coder, choose carefully. If you have a typical product, piracy is common in business and actually doesnt usually lose you a lot of money. In cases where you have something really special, there are ways to make piracy virtually impossible while still allowing people to use it. I do this with my hybrid computers.
