I played 7 coldest numbers with progression option # 2
So I increased the stake after every hit.
Betvoyager fun mode was pretty easy.
I went into the real mode, I wanted to see how far we were able to go.
I was playing for 1 cent roulette, Bankrol 3500 units.
At first I did 700 units.
When my bankroll was 4200 units, bad session an i lost all.

a system that wins almost every time is easy to design. The problem is what happens eventually.

Roulette is like life in the sense that if you try to take a shortcut, you pay for it later. You need to do it properly by addressing the real problem.

Shortcuts lead to long delays. The real problem is that people feel the need to get from A to B in a straight line, and that usually involves shortcuts.

This "roulette is like life" phrase reminded me of a similar one related to chess (read it in a book somewhere).

Just before (or maybe during) the 1972 world championship match in Reykjavik, Iceland, there was a press conference where both Boris Spassky and Bobby Fischer were present.

During the conference, Spassky commented, "Chess is like life."

To which Fischer instantly retorted, "Chess IS life."

Round and round and round she goes and where she stops no body knows.

Yes, but they were both wankers. So chess is a wank and life is a wank, or should I say chess and life are ziggly biggly wigglys.

Therefore roulette is a ziggly biggly wiggly, with random overtones.

"Yes, but they were both wankers."

I can understand you saying that about Fischer, but why Spassky?

When I was much younger, my most prized book was Fischer's 60 most
memorable games. He was my hero and I tried to play like him,
but I know that he was a pain in the ass. A real prima donna.
I also had Spassky's 100 best games, but he really was a nice guy.

Of course you are right, Badger.

It's just that you should never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Badger,
I agree Spassky was a nice guy. In fact, I would argue that he was too much of a nice guy.

In my estimation, he made way too many concessions to Fischer in the build up to their showdown in Reykjavik, Iceland. I think you can say that Spassky had already lost the psychological match to Fischer even before a single pawn had been physically moved on the chess board.

Badger,
I also regard Fischer's My 60 Memorable Games as, arguably, my favorite chess book of all time.

For anyone else who might be interested, I am attaching the scans of the front and back covers of my copy of the book.

Badger

Mine had a different cover. Obviously a later edition.

Gligorich was another of my favourite grandmasters. I aspired to
play the Kings Indian Defence like him. Tal, of course was sublime.

In the 1980's we had to do 2 years military service. When I asked for time off to play
in a national tournament, I was told that chess was not a recognised sport.
I never played in tournaments again.
But every now and then, I enjoy an online game against shredder.

Nice to see there are chess players out there.

Wish I knew. Poit just kind of disappeared, along with some others. Aliens maybe?

Ask Steve, he might know.

Steve

Last I knew, Poit just focused on his work.
