To the math wizards

If you had a method that wins most of the time. Say it could take 7 spins to win, might  go 8 spins once every 100 spins.
Would it be better to bet that it will lose.
Yes i know it could well be the 8 spins at 1st try.

Is it about the wins on 1st try that would say bet for the win to happen on 1st try; or would more wins be gained by betting to lose
