Forget about roulette for a second..

If you were going to learn how to do something youve never done before, where would you start and why?

start from scratch, begging, first step will be to  understand  about the product and its functionality, my view

Steve

I dont mean a product. I mean something like a skill or process

The internet.

Specifically You Tube. I have been learning to Speed Solve Rubick's cube the last couple of years.

I have got my time down from about 2 minutes to 30 seconds (best 25 secs) mainly from watching You Tube videos. I'm aiming for sub 20 second average.

The only drawback with You Tube is there is a lot of crap mixed in. So you have to pick and choose the best material. But something like speed solving is easily measurable and the best people in the world with times under 10 seconds have channels, so you can learn from the top guys.

If you take something like roulette, there's a lot of misinformation out there, and it's not always clear who is winning, since the winners want to remain hidden, so You Tube is not such a good place to start.

- Why
- find the right mentor
- do the right things
- take stock
- Why
- if needed, rinse n repeat to the next level

@ FFox - my 14yr old boy does the standard ones in around 12-15secs .....and then there are the 3 dimensional ones too which he has wrapped up under a min  :)
BTW - enjoy your deciphering n rants

The standard Rubik's cube is 3 dimensional  3x3x3  ... give it a go and see what your time is  ;)

As a second choice to learning from You Tube, forums are good. But traditional forums like this one are going downhill in favour of Facebook forums which are generally bad.

Yeah - Srry FFox - 3 dimensional meaning the Mirror block cubes

Relating to the topic at hand - the good old Books are a good start  ;)

Books would have been my choice before about the year 2005 :)

Youtube.
Because you can find basically every information there, and listening to someone speaking and looking at images at the same time you can take in information much faster than reading through articles and forums.

Ok so it seems most people would naturally start with other's people's experience. It's wise. Why re-invent the wheel?

Now considering roulette. Why not start with basic probability? Why are so many players just ignoring the basics? It's literally primary school math.  I mean "random has limits".. "if you dont bet on cold numbers you improve your odds". Seriously.

There comes a point where ignoring basic probability is more than just being uneducated.

Hahahahahha I’m going to make a new topic just for you Steve
Simple once you get it!  Chased all the pigeons away and they were already in their hole

Steve

I hope it's not about how the entire professional and educated community is wrong about basic probability.
