Hi all,

I don't know how much you are aware of this whole bonus award thing offered by the casinos.

I'm very new to this and i know its my fault for not checking the fine prints.

Here's a classic example of what happened to me at JOYLAND casino

On their website they have advertised that there would be bonus 60% credit award for your 2nd deposit. Silly as i was, I made a 2nd deposit of $400, which gives me and extra of $240.

Then i was told taht the bonus credits is only dedicated to regular slots.

that wasn't a problem for me. I don't mind having extra bucks to play on slots. BUT what i didn't realise was that because I'd excepted their bonus award I now need to meet what they called a 'minimum wagering requirement' which is 50 times of the amount.

that means I can only withdraw my money once I've spend $(400+240) x 50 = $32000 on slot alone. I can still play other games, but nothing else counts towards this minimum requirement. They're taking any amount of money which has won/loss on slots ONLY.

So i think that drew a line for me for JOYLAND. It's not possible to spend all taht on slot alone. It'd be stupid to do so.

I hope no one else has run into this problem.

It pays to read the small print I guess!

For this reason I NEVER take out Casino bonuses. I join up, and email their support, stating that I wish to receive NO bonuses on my account whatsoever. ONLY upon receipt of an agreeable return email do I put funds into the said account.

Sadly this is how all casinos play you with bonuses. Thier stance on this is that the 50x min wagering requirement condition is to deter bonus abusers. What it actually does is damage the relationship with the new player who was unaware of all the extra rules and impossible conditions set out in the small print. 10 years ago the min was 7x now it averages 40x. Simply not worth the bother unless you are a very shrewd slots player.

This doesn't make Joyland a bad casino though. They are actually one of the safer casinos to play at and are now owned by Williamhill gaming.

You can read more on bonus shenanigans in the 'online promotions of interest' thread.

if its any consolation my son in law has added to his already good site a way to play or join through his banners where you don't accept the bonuses just open an account play through your own money once win or lose and you will be given off him not the site a bonus or should I say money from him...no con no messing he gives you half of what he gets full stop..he has maybe ten sites to do this on...i,m not scamming or affiliating just thought to let you all know its possible...his site is COUPON ARBRITAGE

All,

I believe we already have a topic here entitled "Free Bonuses" or similar.

Perhaps it is time to make a STICKIE thread warning members about the serious problems that may arise when taking the offered bonus from an online casino without reading the fine print, TWICE.

As I'm in the camp that says "absolutely no bonus money to be taken" at the online venues, here's hoping we can get a thread to sit at the top of the page with effective warnings about the much abused bonus system plays in online casinos.

Well, i would accept bonus if intend to play with a small unit value, knowing that when the unit value grows it will be easier to easier to meet the wagering limits...the bonus is a welcomed boost when the unit value is small
