Geez! I've faced that too. From a long time ago, in my book, long post = Typing in Word.

Vic is right, type up your posts in a word processor then paste it to the forum.

Let's have the system then.

Unless Victor can implement Autosave, not much I could do 6thsense... your the one with the additional powers Stephanie, so maybe u should have known! 

For my input, if I have something to type now that I know will take time, or I get an interruption.... I write it in here, and the copy paste into notepad.........

I have these little notepad files for everything.

They could be for everything that is said, and subsequently deleted, or any idea/system someone types and then decides to-"Un-Type", to everything I wanna say, but sometime daren't actually post....... I save those too.... just in case I change my mind!

So, in conclusion 6th....................play for the Pink,
which for those watching in black and white........... is just behind the green.

It happens to me some times that the page don't reload - so i save what i type using ctrl c
If i have to start over i just type ctrl v and have my writings on board again
It is a way to save your writing into the computers memory

Control (ctrl) c will only put the contents of Ur 'Copy' ... in Ur PC 'clipboard'.
If u perform any other cut/copy function after it, Ur paste will be contents of Ur last action.

If the forum was down, not loading or has a gateway error, its much safer to copy and paste immediately into either a Word Processor or Notepad, and then U have a tangible entry to be able to use later.
